Corvette not in 1.3 so what ship is better for pvp FDL, or python

I have a vulture now and around 97M credits saved. I have been waiting on 1.3 to make my next ship purchase, hoping for the corvette, but that is not going to happen.
It looks like 1.3 will promote more pvp action, and I'm wondering what ship will be better for that, the FDL, or Python. So I'm throwing that question for those Cmdrs that have used both. I know I'm a little short on cash for the Python, so if that is the ship I'll have to get going to earn some more, I also have the option of gutting my Asp to pick up about 15M credits there, and selling my Viper for another 2.7M. Or I could actually go back to trading with my t7 ---its been parked since 1.2. I don't want to part with the vulture
Bottom line I want to get into next ship ASAP so I get used to it before 1.3. It seemed to take me about a week to get used to the vulture, the first 3 days I had 3 insurance claims, lol, but I got betterl

You could just google for the other 150 times this question has been asked.

Short answer for pvp: FdL.

Long answer for pvp: FFFFFFFdddddddLLLLLLL.

Are you an offensive or defensive player?
FDL if you prefer to dictate the flow of combat, Python if you react to combat.
the FDL is fast with tighter groupings a higher base shield but less power and internals. It runs very hot, doesn't pitch very well, loses momentum easily.
A python is slower, packs a bigger punch, has plenty of power overhead, lots of internal slots for SCB's and all the kit you could ask for, it is also a very capable trader if you want to pad your wallet more. The Python does not turn or fly anywhere fast it will take a while to figure out how to fly effectively. Tip reverse and FA off.
personally having flown both id grab the Python it will be great in or out of PvP.
Both are good ships and both excell in PvP but here's a perspective for you.

With that amount of credits it is impossible to outfit a PvP-Python. You need at least 200M, better 300M.
Even a PvP-FdL is a close call, and you'd have to go with standard armor. I'd suggest to save up to 150M before upgrading to a FdL.

Edit: You could get a Python and outfit it as a trading ship. That way you can get used to it while trading your way up until you have enough to outfit it for PvP. It is a better trading ship than your Type-7, so you could sell that.

I prefer my Python to my FDL every day. Although both are fully upgraded.

Python - Stronger weapons, Slower and cumbersome.
FDL - Fast in a straight line, terrible yaw. If you are running high powered weapons you loose much of the tankyness of the ship. Terrible Jump range.

I prefer my Clipper over both.

Fully kitted out FDL is about 70 mil.
