Ships Federal Corvette Corvette - Weapon loadout

Hi,

Currently I'm grinding fed ranks and saving cash for a Corvette.
I have a plan for basic and internal module loadout, but I'm not sure how I should arm this ship.

I really would like to have 2 huge, gimballed beam lasers in my both H-Slots (either efficient or long range with Thermal Vent).
But I have no clue which loadout would fit for the rest. My thoughts and ideas were:
  • All beams? -> Rather not, Although I love this weapon-type this would drain too much Pips away from sys & eng and I fear I would have too less hull-dmg
  • 3 beams + 2 Pack hounds + 2 small Railguns? -> This combination would probably look & feel incredibly cool, but would require a split into 2 firegroups, preventing me at firing "all at once"... Further I'm not sure whether Rail guns make sense on such a large ship :unsure:
  • Any turreted weapons? -> To be serious I have absolutely no experience with turreted weapons, so I don't know if they make sense to use on a Corvette...

What would be your suggestestion and how did you armed your vettes? :)
 
Railguns work fine on a Corvette, good practice and you can hit the target even when your gimballed weapons are disturbed by chaff. I use MC for the H-slots, nice dakka-dakka.
 
Trigger 1
2 huge long range/vent beams is effective...
I find the rof of huge multi’s annoying.
2 high capacity or small multi’ on the nose with corrosive/emissive.

Trigger 2
2 rails/hammers in the mediums

Which leaves the eternal dilemma of what to put in the large hardpoint. I actually like this hardpoint as you can get creative with it.
• An overcharged PA coupled with ramming?
• A short range burst laser with inertial impact?
• A frag?

Have fun with that one...

Basically this + efficient will be enough to kill most small and some medium NPC ships.

The rest, you should try and play with railguns, MCs etc. which you will need to break bigger hulls and tougher NPC targets.
What you use depends how good you are with fixed weapons (rails) or what you play (in CZ MCs will dry out if you pew-pew for longer time).
 
Mine is set up with (primary fire) 2x class 4 efficient thermal vent gimbaled beams and one class 1 efficient scramble spectrum turreted burst laser. (Secondary fire) is one class 3 overcharged autoloading gimbaled multicannon, 2x class 2 overcharged autoloading gimbaled multicannon and, one class 1 high capacity corrosive gimbaled multicannon.
 
I wanna say my PvE grinding Corvette has:

-Huge Beam Laser
-Huge Fuel plasma
-Large Fuel plasma
-Medium fuel plasma
-medium fuel plasma
-small rail
-small rail

The plasma slaps around mediums and large ships, and since it runs off of the fuel tank+spare tank, I have ammo for quite a long time.

Huge beam takes out small ships if you don’t feel like going through the hassle of using plasma against them.

Small rails with feedback cascade for stopping shield banks/shooting smalls.

Running all fixed is pretty satisfying, and gets you familiar with aiming if you plan on AX or PvP activities later on. The best weapons for those tasks are fixed.
 
I use 2 huge gimballed efficient beams, 1 large and 2 medium plasma slug Pa's and 2 small plasma slug rails for pve.

Still can't decide what weapons to use for pvp though.... lol
