Cost of T6 and T7

Hi

I was playing with ED shipyard and noticed a bit strange thing for me:

Usable cargo for T6 is +-100t and for T7 +-216 [both incuding shiedls]

But difference of cost buying costs for T6 an T7 is to huge fo me

T6 - 1 mil
T7 - 16 mil

for 100T of cargo differece buing cost is to big.

I dont wont to complain but wonder why cost difference is so large

If you think that difference is so large, take a look at the Asp. :p It's actually slightly more than 100 tons difference - but you're right, the difference is too big. I think so, too. Maybe this stems from the lack of vessels - old Elite had a big catalog o' ships in every price range. Here, we've got just a handful, and since the bigger ones are extemely expensive, there is quite a gap in the lower reagions. Thinking that a Dropship costs half as much as a T9, but a Type 6 just 17th of a Type 7... that's weird.

Supposedly the bigger ships make it easier to earn lots of money (I have yet to find that out, I just bought the T7 and still working on equipping it - without an expensive A or at least B class FSD it's not going anywhere), but ideally, that should be cancelled out by larger price jumps, not smaller ones.

T6 = 1m
T7 = T6 + 16m
T9 = T7 + 64m

All roughly. Seems to be following a progression of sorts. Whereas the cargo carrying doubles (and a bit).

So a hypothetical T11 would be a T9 + 256m ?

I also took some calcuation about bi-route trade

on average with standard commdities

T6 can do +- 150K per bi-round trip
T7 can do +- 250K per bi-round trip on same route

and T7 has shorer range even with A grade FSD, besides T7 insurance is aporx 1M and T6 is 100k

I took only pure transport capability of so called transport ships [exclude Asp as exaple]

How do you get 216y cargo on the T7? Thinking of getting one but edshipyard tells me I max out at 136t...

You don't have the largest size cargo holds in their slots.

Go tot he outfitting screen - and see what size cargo hold you have in what sized slot. I'll bet you 1T of Lave Brandy that you have class 4 cargo holds in Class 5 slots, class 3 hold sin class 4 slots and so on...

I had my T7 at 232T. Thank god that's over, I now have a Python doing about 280T - flying those T-series ships destroys my will to live.

I would consider extend cargo modules

for 6 class 128 max
for 5 class 64 max
for 4 class 32 max

but i suspect that need to rebuild all ships stats [eg. max ship mass , FSD etc]

Or fill the gap between T6 T7 T9 with other ships

By those maths a T10 would be T9 + 128m, so a T11 would be T9 + 128m + 256m
