Sony’s PS5 Pro is real and developers are getting ready for it
Sony is pushing developers to focus on ray tracing.

One of the big talks happening this year is the upcoming release of the PS5 pro. This was something I kept hearing about ever since the PS5 launched if Sony ever plans to redo the mid-cycle console refresh this generation like how they have done with the PS4.
The Pro system from what I have read looks to be more of a graphical upgrade over the standard console with a bit of a bump in CPU, and with the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution feature this console will debut, it looks to deliver a more optimized experienced of the PS5 library of games.
One thing to note is that games could be updated to make the most of the system's new capabilities, allowing for a bit of a cleanup in performance while also granting a more graphically enhanced experience. The system's full capabilities has not yet been made public by Sony, so we are unsure how much of a bump this is, but it would be interesting to see what this mid-cycle refresh could deliver.
And it made me want to share here on the JWE2 forums, if Jurassic World Evolution 2 as well as the Planet Sim games could make the most of this console refresh. Jurassic World Evolution 2 has been a visually impressive game on my PS5, and performance has been well so far thanks to the updates the game has been given over the years. If Jurassic World Evolution 2 could utilize what the PS5 pro has to offer, it could allow for a more optimized experience, something greatly appreciated for a sim management game.
I will be eyeing to see if Sony publicly announces anything about the PS5 Pro soon, and share here for discussion. It would be interesting to look into if it means we could get an updated Playstation version of Jurassic World Evolution 2 that would make the most of PSSR and a notably higher GPU, as it could allow the game to be future proof when newer iterations of the Playstation would allow for backwards compatibility.
