Newcomer / Intro Could not move within Eravate system "Route unobtainable"

Hi
I have been trading for a few weeks now and moving along quite nicely.
However I have on TWO separate occasions I have found myself stuck within the Eravate system.
On the first occasion I was at Maine Hub and wanted to deliver to Cleve Hub.
This I found impossible as I could not target Cleve Hub on leaving Maine.
The second occasion I was leaving Ackerman and again could not target Cleve Hub.
On both occasions I got the message "Route unobtainable"
The only way I could get to Cleve Hub was to jump out of Eravate to another system
then jump back into Eravate with Cleve Hub targeted and this has worked twice.
Being a newbie I may be missing something obvious here but for it to happen twice
makes me think there is something odd about moving around within Eravate.
Comments most welcome.
Thank you
Edward

Yes, you are missing something 'obvious' (but always obvious only in hindsight!). :) Routes are exclusively for between-system travels: a route consists of a list of systems you have to travel to to get to your destination. Within a system you can just 'select' the destination and fly there, there is no further route-planning involved anymore.

Hi
Thanks for the info.
I don't think I explained the problem very well so I will try again.
I picked up TWO bulletin board missions to Eravate from the SAME STATION ie Tuan Orbital in Potriti - One to Maine Hub and one to Cleve Hub
I accepted BOTH missions.
I flew to MAINE HUB to complete the first mission but then I found that I could NOT target Cleve Hub when leaving Maine.
No matter what I tried all I got was "Route unobtainable"
I completed the second mission to CLEVE HUB by jumping out of the system and then jumping back in again.
It seems the Navigation system somehow gets confused if TWO Bulletin Board missions from the SAME SYSTEM/STATION
are set up to deliver to TWO separate stations within ONE system.
Hope this makes sense - It does'nt to me but thats whats happened twice!

If you are selecting a destination within a system you are already in using the System Map, you just need to click the target icon (inverted triangle). If that icon is behaving oddly for you then you can also select a station within your system from the Navigation Panel to your left.

Because Maine and Cleve are both in the same system there is no 'route' to plot - routes go between systems.

You have no need to go to the system map.

On the left panel go to Navigation, then scroll down until you find Cleve. Select it, and you're done.

If you were in (say) Sol you could plot a route to Cleve, as it would involve changing systems.
