Newcomer / Intro Could somebody post a new Sidewinder Face-Off tutorial video for v1.2?

I am having difficulty getting past the Sidewinder Face-Off in Training Mode.

I see lots of video tutorials on YouTube, but they're old and the AI right now behaves nothing like what I'm seeing in those tutorials.

I understand the AI got tougher since v1.1, or is it just me?

Could somebody post a video with an explanation of how to fight this opponent or and how this applies to fighting in general?

No video - not at my home PC; otherwise I'd record one.

I did this recently while waiting for a minor patch to download. Basically get your throttle into the blue zone when you inevitably end up in the "let's see who gets dizzy first" turning contest, divert energy to thrusters, and use thrust down to put a bit of distance between you and your target. When you've got a bit of space between you and the target, 4 pips to shields and 2 to weapons as you line up (if they get on target first), then go four pips to WEP while you're firing.

It flies pretty much the same as it did in my video from what I can tell. Possibly a bit more random but with your throttle in the blue zone and 4 pips in ENG it couldn't fire on me at all after the first head to head. No need for thrusters, you should be able to track it simply with 4 in ENG and blue zone, boost when it gets over 1KM away from you. You might need to throttle up and down a bit while remaining in the blue zone.
