I liked how the indoraptor was accessible back in Jurassic World Evolution 1, when you simply needed to research the Indominus rex genome before being able to research the indoraptor, as you could jump directly to the indoraptor as your main park hybrid if you wanted a single hybrid from the roster of 5 back then.
Jurassic World Evolution 2 did an interesting take with the indoraptor research, in that you had to incubate an Indominus rex in order to get an indoraptor. This was back when players needed to unlock everything in sandbox mode by playing from the other modes, and the indoraptor was attainable as a research item in the Northwest Challenge map, which was fun to get in that map with a carnivore only roster.
However, ever since research was introduced in sandbox mode, that requirement to incubate an indominus rex to get the research for the indoraptor is still present, and I think it somewhat diminishes my want to incubate an indoraptor. At least in my playthrough, I go for 1 hybrid per park so that the hybrid stands out from the park's roster, so I tend to go for either the Indominus rex or Scorpios rex. Incubating the Indoraptor means that I have to incubate the indominus rex, and by the time she is incubated, I already have an expensive hybrid in the park and I tend to not want to get the indoraptor anymore.
Could we have it like JWE1 where the indoraptor could be researched without needing to incubate any other hybrid? I feel acquiring the indominus rex genome and additional 100% velociraptor should be enough effort to unlock the indoraptor. Plus, at least to me, having the indoraptor be the only incubated hybrid makes it feel more special when filling in that science experiment exhibit. What do you guys think?
