General / Off-Topic Could the reports have it wrong: Doctor Who

For a while now (since January I think), the news has been speculating who will replace Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor in Doctor Who. This is because of a rumour that she is leaving at the end of series 13. However, I've been wondering whether the rumour is wrong, and maybe she is staying on, or something else is going on (cancellation of show?). So, I'm making this thread to get others opinions on this. Are the reports likely right or wrong on Whittaker leaving? And maybe say why you think what you think.

I've stopped watching Dr Who.
Same here. Faded out for me after Tom Baker left. Started again with the new set but didn't seem to have the magic that Baker brought to the show.

The producers should actually watch some of the episodes of the first 4 doctors and really look for someone that can match any of those four. If they did, I'd start watching it again.

I started watching Doctor Who with Jon Pertwee, though Tom Baker is definitely my Doctor. Watching Doctor Who here in the states when I was young is definitely a fond memory.

I kept watching all the way through McCoy, watched the so-called "movie," and picked it up again with the "New Who." I started losing interest half way through Matt Smith's run, and his successor killed what little interest was remaining. Blink is definitely where I consider "New Who" to have reached its peak.
