Dinosaurs General Gameplay Could we have some diseases do more than decrease health?

When the dinosaurs are exposed to diseases in the game, they would normally just lose their health at different rates. What it means for a dinosaur to get one disease from the other is how fast the disease spreads. Some of them feel like they should alter the dinosaur behavior a bit, but nothing too drastic. That way we could see the changes happening to our dinosaurs when they get sick.

Here are some of the diseases that I think could do with something that would alter their looks and sometimes behavior. If I didn't list down the disease, it would mean that I think the disease is okay in what it does in the game. Please do contribute and let me know what else these diseases could do to our dinosaurs.

Algae Poisoning

Description: Algae comprise of a vast range of life forms that subsist on photosynthesis.

For this disease, I read in the vca hospitals website that it does lead some animals to have some symptoms that vary between creatures. Since the symptoms are very graphic (bleeding, vomiting, shock, diarrhea), it may not have all of these symptoms in the game due to the ESRB rating system. But one symptom is "reduced appetite", and I think we could have the dinosaur have a delay when hungry. In which they would only seek out food once they begin to starve (hunger is in the red), not when they are hungry.

Rabies

Description: The virus can be passed on by bites from an infected animal, and combined with the increased aggression poses a significant threat to island operations. It causes inflammation of the brain resulting in hallucinations, violent behavior and hydrophobia.

For this disease. Could we have it so that the infected dinosaur has a combat setting at maximum and that the comfort rating turns red (???). This could be activated in 20 seconds from infection.

Ticks

Description: Infection comes from close proximity to other infected dinosaurs, or compromised sites. While not necesaarily dangerous to themselves, they can be a vector for further blood-borne disease.

The game has an interesting use of physics for the tails, in which the tails would react to the enviroment around them. I was thinking that the dinosaurs that got ticks could have tails that would wag more often or react every now an then to give the feeling of itchiness.

Salmonella

Description: This bacteria is normally contracted through contaminated food and can result in fever and dehydration.

Could we have it so dinosaurs that have gotten salmonella would normally 'seek out water' even if their water needs are met?

Tapeworms

Description: The usual cause for tapeworm infestation is from eating spoiled meat containing tapeworm eggs or larvae. An infestation can prevent a dinosaur from eating, or gaining sufficient nutrients if it does.

If dinosaurs get infected with this disease, they could eat twice as much to satisfy their hunger need. This will be devastating for the other dinosaurs in the exhibit as it will deplete feeders really fast.

For the remaining diseases, I think we could have the dinosaurs have a slight desaturation to their skin color as their health drops. This could make them feel like the disease is taking its toll over the dinosaur and this is not a death due to lack of food or water. Their muscles may weaken too a bit earlier for the more deadlier ones, so we could have the dinosaur have her head and tail slightly droop. This will be a great way to differentiate the sick dinosaurs from not sick dinosaurs beyond the sick icon.

Please let me know what you think!
