Newcomer / Intro Couple question from a complete noob.

So just purchased the game last night and had a blast playing for about 4 hours i am using mouse+kb and spent the first hour learning to fly the ship (default settings had me rolling around non stop)

1) Is the Incersion tutorial hard or am i just really bad. Waves 1-4 were pretty easy but i spent at least an hour beating wave 5 (aka the cobra mk 3) and sometimes i still fail beating it but i have made it to wave 7 where the 2 fighters and sidewinder attack and i always die fast to them (the 3 or 4 times i have made it to that wave i almost always lose my thursters right away and end up floating without control). The docking and landing tutorials were no where near as hard as i had thought they would have been from all the talk of have heard that docking/landing was hard. Supercruise was difficult to figure out until watching a video that explained that you want to keep your speed and distance in the blue zone to exit SC.
The crazy part is after playing the real game aka non tutorial i found the combat quite easy aka sidewinders pose no threat and even cobra mk3 are quite easy to take down in my default ship.

2)I am not really insteaded in trading or mining and so i began bounty hunting at first i tried astroid belts and nav beacons in the starting system and only found 1 or 2 wanted sidewinders to kill. After reading the forums it seems like extraction sites are a good place to start hunting after exploring systems for around 2 hours i found a system nearly full of resource extraction sites and was rewarded with multipe wanted cobras and sidewinder with plenty of police to help me. So are resource extraction sites a good idea or should i start bounty hunting other places?

3)After reading around and watching some videos it seems like the biggest upgrade to a stock sidewinder is a Class A power distributor. The problem is i can't find anything better then a Class C and i have searched about half a dozen systems. Is there a method to finding better upgrades aka are they more likely to be in larger systems or high tech systems?

4)Is bounty hunting a viable money making strategy aka can you bounty hunt all the way upto a Anaconda? I don't really care about getting a Anaconda right away or anytime soon in reality i want to buy and fully upgrade all the combat ships reading the wiki all the ships sound fun and like they all have a unique feel to each one.

Thanks for any help:)

1. I've never done that tutorial I don't think so will skip this one.

2. Extraction sites are probably the best if you can handle the asteroids. Both Nav Beacons and Extraction sites have respawning enemies but I've always found you get more in extraction sites. There is no faster way to bounty hunt.

3. Try filtering the map by systems with a high-tech economy. They usually have the best of gear. And you are right. A distributor will make your weapons recharge faster (longer firepower) and your engines cool down quicker (more boost availability). When bounty hunting you need to get that first purely to keep your lasers firing for longer.

4. Will take a long time to get to an Anaconda through bounty hunting alone. The quickest option for fast cash is trading, and that's what the game is all about really. It's possible but will take you a long time.

noob question..using hyperspace to make a plot jump....lets say its 4 jumps total.....will the ship jump in and out of systems on its own to complete all 4 jumps? can u make it just jump from the 1st jump to the 4th jump in one motion?

right now i am jumping in then out, then in then out, then in then out, then in the out.....if you plot the course isnt it supposed to do it on its own?

Don't fret, that tutorial is dialled up pretty high. Clearly it worked though, as you emerged with a decent grasp of combat :)

For jumping, I have a couple of posts bookmarked:

Fangrim's Guide to Supercruising:

Yokai's Guide to trade routes:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=91538

Yokai's guide is mostly for trade routes, but there's some good info about SuperCruising in there too.
When you plot the route, your navigation computer will automatically plot the next waypoint in the route as you reach each waypoint, but you still need to engage the Frame Shift Drive manually.

It's not you; that tutorial is really hard.

Resource Extraction Sites are the best bounty-hunting grounds I have yet found. Nav beacons can be interesting, though, because it's more likely that ships belonging to a faction will show up there, and if you aggravate a powerful faction, they might start sending assassins after you as long as you remain in the system.

Higher-population worlds will likely have more equipment available. Also, your reputation with the controlling faction can evidently influence what's made available to you, too. But keep flying around and eventually you'll find the gear you're after.

I don't see why not. Bounty-hunting is probably the second-fastest way of making money at this point, although it's far behind trading in terms of potential income. I usually clear about 300k in an evening of casual bounty-hunting at a Cobra-spawning RES. I'm not looking to maximize my income, though. I like my Cobra a lot and intend to spend plenty of time in it, so I feel no need to make tons of cash.

There's no autopilot, so the ship won't jump on its own. However, your nav computer may not have plotted the fastest course. If you can see your ultimate target in your targeting list (and it's not red), then you can select it and jump straight there, overriding the plotted course. You can also switch the nav computer to use the Fastest route instead of the Economical one. When you then replot the course, it will take the fewest possible number of jumps instead of the course that saves the most fuel.

You can plot a route between systems and your computer will remember the steps for each jump but it won't automatically pilot for you, you have to manually jump between each system.

Each time you come out of hyperspace the next course will be ready in your computer and the compass will be set for the next destination. Just fly away from the sun a bit (to cool down), line up with the next jump then charge FSD. Repeat until there are no more jumps left in your computer and you should be at your destination.

If you are new I'll explain that you should never just line up for the next jump right after a jump. The added heat of charging your FSD when you are in close proximity to the sun will probably be enough to start causing heat damage to your ship. As above, just fly away a little bit, you don't have to go too far, before charging FSD. When your FSD is charging your ship heats up quite a bit.
