Does it have to be 5 different black markets or just separate occasions? Also, any quick ways I can get black marketable goods without piracy? I'm not really set up for it currently

Thank you good sir, I actually figured slaves would be legal in pirate systems but ill just need 5 units of them and a quick trip. Also, does purchasing from the black markets qualify as deals?

Five separate markets. A quick and cheesy way to do it is to take a delivery mission at a station with a black market and immediately abandon it. The goods you were given to deliver are now illegal cargo which you can sell at the black market. I've done this to unlock the Dweller, it does work.
There seems to be a bug at the moment which means it's not registering black market transactions properly. You'll need to wait for this to be fixed (if it hasn't been already) before you can proceed.

No, only sales as far as I know. Purchasing from regular markets doesn't count with unlocking Lei Chueng, so I expect it's the same with The Dweller.

The black markets "statistics" are bugged at the moment, one of my commanders shows 3 markets and no matter how many I sell to, what I sell and for how much, none of the stats there changes. There is a running thread on it in the Engineers forum.

Yeah I got to the 5 markets and saw that closing game and relaunching should trigger the invite, which it did, but when I went to Dweller he just attacked and killed me...... Is that part of the bug?
Interesting, so the stats did update for you when you traded at the black markets. I had the impression that was still broken.

Try logging out completely then back in...
worked for me when I earned an Archer permit and it had not updated...
I think the fact that you were blown up is a totally separate thing. I'm as clueless on that as you are I'm afraid.
I did that to get my invite and that worked but the station was itself was hostile, I'll try again but I'm gonna be mad if I get shot down again
I'd go and test it in a Sidewinder if I were you. That way you're not risking any rebuy money. Good luck CMDR.

just abort the gilde if his base is still red, i had the problem with lei chueng, think a relog fixed it
It took 3 relogs, but the station finally went neutral, must have been a bug or something.
