Couple quick questions (slot 0 bug, and asteroid types)

  1. First - I have a big atmospheric HMC with 7 (7!!!) planetary slots. My Primary Outpost (civvy) was built around it. I constructed a refinery on the planet below and now i have a lovely healthy market on the outpost. I'm thinking of putting in the time building a coriolis around the HMC so i can build the market it further with more refineries and whatnot.

Now, the first available slot IS slot 0. I'm aware of a bug where the market isn't inherited from the planet when the station is in slots 1 and above. Will this be a problem in my case? It DOES list as slot 0 available, BUT i do already have an outpost in orbit which i would have thought takes slot 0?

  2. Second...

I think the answer to this is 'we simply don't know', but here goes - I would really like an ice asteroid. I have a few ringed planets with OUTER ice rings, but INNER rock rings. Some have one slot, some have two slots. I'm guessing at present there's no way to determine whether we get an ice or a rock asteroid in this case?

I DO have a planet with ONLY ice rings - so an ice asteroid is gauranteed - however theres no additional slots so i couldn't really expand on it when built.

    Cheers all,

    John

1. Primary orbital slot and slot 0 around a body count as different orbits(99% sure). You should be good to build there. (EDIT: Apparently ports around a body divide economy distribution and market supply/demand between themselves, so that coriolis might not be as well-stocked as it should. This could possibly be remedied by generally improving the system, thus boosting the market size. Speculating there.)

2. We just don't know yet. I've seen somebody place a rocky asteroid port around the innermost slot, only for it to end up in the icy outer ring. Might be safest to just wait until that mechanic is clearer/less buggy.

As an aside: while I'd certainly understand playing it safe, it's not completely clear that this is what's actually happening - I've heard of counterexamples where the slot1 orbital works fine too.
(Either way hopefully the bugs will get sorted out sooner rather than later)

This fortunately isn't the case - if you have hubs/settlements/installations providing e.g. 1.2 points of economy influence between them, then every market on the same body gets its own copy of those 1.2

Though for asteroid bases you don't really need to - they have an intrinsic Extraction economy anyway, so you don't need to put other boosters near them, and you can improve their production more generally through global chevron effects on system variables like wealth and development level.
