CPU advice please

ANY ADVICE PLEASE
i'm thinking of buying this to upgrade my pc but don't know if i'm doing the right thing
at the moment i can't afford the i7 so i thought this is the next best thing .
at the moment i have an AMD black edition 3.5 ghz / 8 core processor , a GTX 1070 and CV1

Looks good and tbh I really like Scan. I doubt they would bundle a rubbish combo. I had a look at this http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-intel-skylake-core-i5-6600k-review and they seem to like it. If you want it for ED using VR it will be fine. That said, if your CPU isn't being pushed to 100% at the moment when playing ED (my i5 4670K isn't so far, I'm on a 970 GTX but your CPU has more cores) then I wouldn't bother upgrading yet.

If I were you, I'd start task manager, stick it on CPU and peak out the nose gap every now and then to peek at CPU use. Unless it is working >90% I'd hang on to your money. VR seems to be bottlenecking the Graphics card for most people but the CPU still has some room to play with, even on CPUs that are below recommended requirements (yours is above).

If you just want to upgrade anyway, then it looks like a good deal. [smile]
