Whilst you're on about CQC what's happening with the $100,000 CQC competition ? Was looking forward to watching it but nothing has been mentioned for a long time.

Can we find out what bits of the game Dom has worked on? That way we can prepare some nasty questions that he has to try and answer to our satisfaction whilst also winning CQC games :D

I don't know if you or Dale are monitoring the various VR subreddits, but there's an spontaneous outpouring of love for ED around the launches of the Rift and Vive, as ED appears in a very good light compared to almost all of the rest of the launch lineup. Most other games are one step beyond a tech demo or are at best on the level of a mobile game. Project Cars has Rift support but not Vive, but the way their multiplayer is implemented means that Rift owners can't play against anyone else.

It would be very cool to Surf The Wave of VR Hype by putting one of your CQC live streaming devs in a headset (if not in a whole wetsuit and time trial helmet CMDR getup too :D) and announcing tonight's stream on /r/oculus and /r/Vive.

Go go, Agile Community Team!

I do love the Arena and hopefully Frontier can implement some basic PvP funcionality into it, so that those players who love PvP action can build teams, rankings or just have coordinated fun together and against each other. Like I started it in the 1vs1 ranking in small ships only some days ago - doesn't need much but the positive feedback is huge.

Haven't played (and by played I mean been shot a lot) CQC for a couple of weeks. I'm in, mainly because everyone needs a target :p

That's a excellent idea, also give the VR community a immersive 360 video of some CQC action.

CQC is unbelievable with the rift.

I have nothing to say, except

Is there any way already to stream the stereoscopic view? I thought that since the advent of Direct Rendering, that stays on the headset. I was simply thinking of streaming the preview window contents and a camera shot of a dev with a headset on in virtual bliss or agony.

Could lead to a Stig type combatant. Everyone would be poring over the cut of their sweater to see if it's DB. :)

Oh man I'd love to do this! Maybe next time. Takes quite a bit of GPU and CPU and whatnot to actually broadcast two instances of the game running on one PC, and with the streaming software plus a VR headset... oo boy! But I'll experiment ;)

'Just' put the VR player on his dedicated PC, compose his game and camera there, and stream to a nginx server running on your regular production PC: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/picture-in-picture-streaming.61/

Because the difficulty of both media production and computers remains constant with the number of parties involved, doesn't it? ;)
