CQC CQC Controller Default Settings

Actually got into a match yesterday and had some seriously brutal fun being destroyed by a Cmdr whom I could not find or lock onto half the time. Did get some kills in though. Must be the result of needing only 2 players for a deathmatch. Thanks FD. Like pvp when there is no rebuy at stake.

1st Query: are my controller settings for ED the same in CQC? Could not select next hostile [A+ Tab down] or select next ship [A+Tab up]. Are there different controller bindings in CQC or a way to check what is bound to what button. I'm flying with HOTAS and Pedals; most everything else worked just like in ED, F/A off etc, worked without any problems. Also ships seem to be more responsive to full reverse throttle; much more so than in ED game.

2nd Query: is there any guide to CQC post 3.102?

1. Some of the targeting options are disabled in CQC, unfortunately. You have to point at a ship to target them.

2. No, but little has changed in CQC's core dynamics since it launched, and nothing at all recent.

Other than the targeting, the only major difference from the main game is that system pips still follow the "classic" curve (where anything below 4 is almost useless).

There's a controller binding for "show current scores" which is I think the only CQC-exclusive.

If you can't lock on to someone, that's likely the Stealth (blue) powerup, which prevents targeting of someone unless they shoot you (or in team games, shoot an ally) ... if you can lock on, but your gimbals don't track to them they're running cool either with heat sinks (Eagle) or silent running (All). If you can't find them, they're probably just hiding behind a building or a rock - radar is line-of-sight only.

Thanks, makes sense. Appreciate your confirmation. Played a few rounds today and began to make some progress in my ranking. o7 Cmdr.

Found some of the Stealth powerups today and was able to effect a couple of kills with it; fun being invisible. Also tried using the hide and sneak attack myself that's been used against me; much more fun to use than to have it used against you. Appreciate, your mentoring Cmdr, o7.
