CQC CQC Dead?

Hey everyone,

I have been taking a long break from the game, but with the upcoming 1.5 I have decided to slowly and steadily come back to it.

As most of us have our free time swallowed by Fallout 4 currently, I decided to take some breaks from that game and return to Elite, and try out CQC.

So what happened? Are the servers dead? Are people simply not playing CQC? Am I just too late to the party?
I can find NOTHING and NO ONE 95% of the times I tried (I got 2 games in the last few days)!!!

This is not purely a matchmaking question/issue. It's a more general question: If the problem is that nobody is playing CQC can we ever really expect it to be functional again?

Plus, I'm on the test server playing the 1.5 beta this week and next week Horizons.

Edit: you'd think they'd throw bots into a match to fill it up during dead times.

November launch games, this happens each November, for all games that are running and launched before November titles are released, it will pick back up after 3-4 weeks or so.

In this case, Fallout 4, Battlefront, and Call of Duty, and even more games have been released, there's been a player activity drop across the board on all games.

Maybe I should actually give CQC a shot? See what the heck it's all about?

Well, not right now. As andyraptor said, there's too much to do in game right now to bother with what is, essentially, a different game.

Fallout 4, beta testing, Horizon testing one of these days, and then the release of Horizons... To be honest, I don't expect CQC to be a hit with all these goodies hanging around.

I had a couple of quick goes in CQC when it launched and at a lan party a couple of weeks later but tbh there's too much in the main game I still want to do to waste too much time in there.
Also, I quite quickly got fed up with being matched with players 20 or more levels above me.

cqc is enjoyed by some and fair play,but its clearly a console gamers thing...it was used to draw the xbox audience to ED....lets face it if ED didnt have cqc then i doubt the xbone would have had half the sales they have had

Well, I tried CQC when it was new and it was simply not that interesting.
Also, in my opinion Elite and K/D ratio do not mix.

whilst it is no where near as good as the main game for me, i think it is a solid addition to the package as a whole and I am glad it is there.

I only play CQC so I can get to level 50, and unlock the system owned by CQC Holdings, that has every ship and module.

Oh, and for the rank.

started doing the rares trading CG last night, and what better way to spend the time waiting for a 2nd allowance of onion than a round of CQC deathmatch.

Again as the other night, after maybe 1 min searching for a game (time used to check my loadout etc) I got in to a game.
It was mid match of course but no issue there, just time to warm my jets and make sure everything is where it should be.

over all I had maybe half a dozen games last night, all lag free, all ran smoothly. Right On!. (and had 1 win and 4 2nd places too so even better ;) )

Don't forget Halo 5 and new updates to various other games from expansions and updates like Destiny. Like I posted in another thread even adult websites are losing traffic.

Here I am, the second lowest ranked player in this group, winning a match. Rank in CQC isn't everything.

(one of those people joined the game close to the end so I'm not really counting them in my arguement)
