CQC is the best gameplay, change my mind.

I assume many of you maybe listened to a depressed youtuber instead of trying by yourselves, or maybe i'm wrong and you really hate CQC, but here's what I think.
Give me some time, hear me out and I'll try to tell you why imo it should be more important to the game and given WAY more attention.

After reaching Elite in the 3 other categories, I went for CQC because it's the last Elite I don't have and I was surprised... but to me, it definitely has the best gameplay!

_ Easy access to PVP,
_ No grind,
_ No penalty just fun,
_ Badass menu soundtrack,
_ Different builds, loadouts and maps,
_ Queue time is quite short for me (western Europe)
_ Queue time still lets you play the main game
_ Targetlock breaking when out of sight makes the game intense
_ Intense gameplay allows quick learning and improvement
_ 3D sound is almost as good as head tracking
_ CQC alone makes War Thunder look bad.
_ There is actually a good population despite outdated critics.
_ Different gameplays,
_ Games are short enough to be reachable,
_ Games are long enough to raise focus and the will to win.

Now I really, really hope it won't be changed when the new DLC comes out and that we'll still be able to play this.
I don't understand why this beauty isn't pushed forward in the main game.
There are so many new gameplays that could be emerge just using that Arena gameplay and logic to the main game.

You could settle arguments by representing a faction and settle conflict by a duel with another champion.
Both players have the same CQC ship setup in a well balanced map.
Best out of 3 wins.

Winning or losing could have different consequences.

If maybe FDev is reading, please don't destroy the current CQC, maybe you guys don't like it but don't delete that beauty.

....
I think your initial assumptions are wrong.
Some might have listened to youtubers, some might hate CQC, some might even play it but I consider it most likely the majority are just uninterested.

I loved the three days I played CQC, it was nice and fast paced, and the damage a few hits can do was great- it puts a lot of emphasis on good positioning, and evasive flying. The use of objects to block sensors is fun and is missing from main game combat imo. It would be nice to have a bigger role for heat (possibly in combination with a role for seekers) and a truly fixed weapon. Frankly, though, I find main game PvP so tedious I can barely watch other people's videos, let alone seek it out myself (entirely because of shield point inflation mind you, flight & heat management aspects are fun enough).

The reason I didn't keep coming back is that it would crash out the whole program 2 or 3 times each evening. VR needs a stability patch by the look of things.

I played it for the first time a few nights back as the mission board in the main game was a bit quiet and I thought "let's give this 5 minutes and see what it's all about".

I was still playing it 45 minutes later, ranked up to Level 3 and unlocked a few new ships. It's actually really fun and is completely different from the main games combat system.
Losing tracking of the enemy when out of sight and being rewarded the kill for the last hit makes it frustratingly fun as you can also steal a kill as well as have someone else steal yours.

The maps are really cool too, especially in and around installations and asteroids and those mini gates that give you a slight advantage even if brief and tilt the scales in your favour sometimes.

Really enjoyed it and will be back again. If you have tried to get on before without luck, then do Deathmatch instead of Team Deathmatch as we found out and we still ended up playing together, well in the same instance anyway.

It was a refreshing change from the norm and often blandness of the main game.

If you have a moment, would you mind adding a confirmation and description to
Frontier say they're aware, but more information can't hurt.

Some but not all players with crashes have found that they're much less frequent if they don't fly the Condor.

Cqc is great, but:

Have you tried organized PvP wing fighting in dense asteroid fields?

If one is lucky enough to have a few good friends who also happen to be great pilots, working together as a team, training and discussing strategy is the cat's pajamas.

It is also extremely entertaining and funny.

Furthermore, the FDL is super fun to fly and the devastation of the Plasma Accelerator and Short Range Blaster Rail gun viscerally feels so much more Oomph! than the ships and weps in CQC.

And ramming! CHONK THUNK.

CQC seems more refined and elegant.
I like a good mud wrestle.

I have no problem vouching for more attention towards CQC (doubly if it's intended to be the definitive PvP experience in-game). Of course, with so much else on their plates, it's hard to imagine this getting higher up on the developmental to-do list.

What I specifically like about CQC is the more fast-paced, white-knuckle experience of the action. You're in nimble, fast fighters. It's not the routine of conventional space combat which is either jousting or looping around in all of emptiness. There are more obstacles, there are faster respawns (with no significant penalty), there's a slight tactical edge to the power-up rings...it's all intended to tap into those adrenal glands. And the potential is THERE, but it needs refining and improvement before we can get maximum intensity out of this.

Ramming is a massive immersion killer for me. No pilot, other than the most desperate kamikaze ones, would do that in a real spaceship. Ramming drags the whole game down to auto scooter level. CQC is doing this aspect very right at least since ramming doesn't make much sense here.
A certain scene from the Expanse comes to mind

"Better than good" is a stretch IMO. Its good but I don't think I would rank it my top 10 sci-fi series. You should definitely watch it for sure.

Back on topic... I love CQC but you can never get any matches. Bots would be the best solution I believe. Queeing for it while in the main game wasn't effective and tbh I really don't think a ftp version of it would really fare well. After a few weeks I think it would die again.
