CQC CQC majorly broken in 2.1?

Woohoo!! Beam laser fix incoming! (Not sure if the VR bug is fixed though...)

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/267701-Update-2-1-03-Incoming

"CQC

- CQC power distributors now have their 2.0 values back, and weapon distributor is no longer strictly the best
- Fix a lost flag on a few PG weapons that turned all the beam lasers into pulses, and would have un-intentionally increased DPS by 50% because the damage per second value would be interpretted as damage per shot and fired every 0.66 seconds
- Wing manager should now remove player that leave the game from their teams wing, they should also no longer assert about having a wing member in a weird state
- The message the team gets about players leaving teams should now work as intended"

The VR issue is fixed. Now sometimes you'll spawn with your view outside the ship before the countdown starts, but once it does you're in your ship, at least in the 6 games I played.

That said, not sure if it's the power distributor change, some undocumented change, or maybe just my imagination, but the ships all feel much slower and less nimble than they previously were.

Awesome. Glad that both the VR and heat beam bugs are sorted! Would be a real bummer if the ship movement is now bugged though.

Perhaps it's the power redistributor change. Have the module stats for each type changed in CQC outfitting? And if so, do they feel accurate as described there?

I'm too much of a noob to know what the module stats were before the patch, or even how accurate the stats reflect the difference between the various options.

Anyone know if the VR bug is fixed yet? The patch notes for 03 didn't mention that bug at all in any section. They did apparently fix the OP beam and the distributor problem.

I just played several matches in CQC in VR (Rift) with no problems with the camera/view/lost in space issue.

Great fun - even if I was toast.

People play CQC? :O I tried it once and there were only 3 people playing. lol. I figured it was abandoned. And when I did the 2 matches I was unlucky enough to play, I understood why! Boring....

It doesn't have enough people to make finding games easy 24/7, but if you hit it up at the "right" times of day you can definitely find DM matches regularly. TDM his harder, CTF is nearly impossible without people coordinating ahead of time.

CQC certainly isn't prospering as well as I'd like, but it ain't dead.

I'm curious to see if you still find Silent Running viable as a combat or escape tactic. Or both. :)
Well I won like 5 in a row running that build, however my opponents weren't very good. Had one prestiged guy in there, but he was at the bottom of the ranking most times so no real opposition.

So did a couple of rounds with Artysu, and I can declare silent running absolutely and positively dead and useless. If you fire anything (cannons/pulses/whatever) for more than 2 seconds while silent running, you will explode due to heat, there is simply no way to shed the heat fast enough, you jump up to 200% after 2 seconds and you are dead.
