CQC CQC mode: Warzone

CMDRs,

I've been enjoying CQC a lot but it feels a little shallow. With FD putting some focus on pro competition with their tournament I thought it would be nice to have a solid objective based game mode.

Personally I enjoy objective based game mode because it gives me a sense of achievement when I have played my role successfully.

I have attached a link to the game mode. It's close to the battlefront space battle mode but with an end game factor. The end game decisions may give teams that choose effectively a great victory especially in situations where both teams are really close to winning.

I feel a mode like this will encourage a lot of team tactics and would be nice for generating a competitive space for elite. This is just a basic design document. I'm sure a more detailed version could be developed if there was interest for it.

Side Note: A lot of people feel CQC is a separate thing and that's perfectly fine. There is reason Call of Duty has three modes, Single player, Multiplayer and Zombies. There are dedicated players that only play those modes and dabble in other modes for fun.

I feel if given the right importance to both Solo, Open and CQC, FD can develop each mode as it's own thing. Players can dedicate themselves to each of these mode but still be part of the larger Elite community.

Yes,I agree with that and I wanted to propose also the point of “putting some focus on pro competition” Some extra development on CQC canmake a E-sport only from this mode.

Unfortunately I think adding additional game modes right now would be more harmful than good. It will further segment the community (the population is already too low for the current 3 modes available). I think their resources and time would be better utilized implementing more core features necessary to make a successful arena type mode; leaderboards (solo and wing), lobby text chat, spectator modes, better matchmaking or a lobby system of some sort, fixing bugs, and adding more maps.

Once the core features are implemented and working well with a decent population of players, then I would be more open to them adding additional game modes.
