Yep, supported.
Althought, CQC is precisely the reason "standard managerial" thinking applied to videogames annoys me to no end :
CQC was a "failure" (in the sense that it did not enjoy widespread success) because it was not given nearly enough resources to be nearly developped and feature-rich enough to retain proper interest...
But the "failure" of its current under-funded form is the precise reason why anyone with their hand on the money at FD will refuse to pour "enough" resources to make it finally viable.
It's like publishers who only fund development and marketing of games with a female lead about 50% as much as games with a male lead, on the notion that they have about only 50% of the success, without realizing that they are less successful precisely because they get only half the resources and half the mediatic coverage... It's like they produce their own self-fulfilling prophecies!
But, ramblings set aside, I fully encourage more people to suggest a broadening of CQC's presence in Elite :
1) Make CQC a thing in the real game, with missions to win a particular game, for an example.
2) Add bots to fill the vast emptiness of the current playerbase...
3) Add private matchmaking.
4) Improve random matchmaking mechanics.
5) RACING!
6) Seriously, racing would be incredible! Especially with custom tracks on planets and the like...
7) Tie CQC rewards with in-game rewards : Give the winners a choice between a few rare Engineering materials... Let's make victory actually desirable!
