CQC with friends of 5 or more.

hi
am hoping there will be a group of us on later... more than 4 possibly

if there an easy way to get us all into 1 server. do we just go in as a 4 then kick 1 from the wing and then invite another into the wing? we will be chatting on private discord so won't need to be in the same in-game party.

also some of the people will be brand new to elite. I take it there is no way to keep it just us to stop some of the really experienced players from jumping in and mashing them/us.
I have been trying to get into a game on my own just to refresh myself but it's been over an HR now (most of it whilst I was playing using the menu queue but now I am actually in the CQC lobby

boy does this game need bots!.

edit of and last question. if we start in free for all is it easy to swap to team deathmatch without dispanding? and final question

if we are in team deathmatch can we mix teams up or if some of us are in a wing does it force us to stay in the same deathmatch team.
sorry I am not finding out for myself but if I can't get in I can't fiddle about

I think you have to exit the lobby to change the wing composition. Your best bet is probably to all just queue up normally at the same time. and hope that either there aren't more than three other people playing, or they leave quickly enough that the others can get into the match after the first one

Other than "have eight people so there's no more room in the match", no.

(If you're not worried about any of the main game consequences of CQC - permits, token credit payouts, etc. - then Legacy and Live have separate queues, and basically no-one plays in Legacy. So if you just want a private "doesn't count" match, that might be the closest you'll get)

I think you'd have to re-setup the wing for that.

Team Deathmatch has an extremely high weighting for keeping a wing together as a team. I don't think it will set up a 4 vs 2 match (though it's been so long that I can't remember - it might!) but it will certainly disregard any other balancing factors to keep the wing together.

So e.g. if there's three vets about and you five including a team of four, it's going to put all three vets on the same team with your spare player. This is generally not fun for anyone.

thanks. after all that we never played it anyway. unfortunately out of all my gaming mates I am the only one who still is interested in elite.
I did eventually get into CQC before they showed up and had 1 game against someone 1v1. I lost 2:1 but it was enough to confirm I would enjoy it with a bunch of friends. oh well!.
