Crash to desktop right after launching the game.

Just downloaded and installed the update, everything is current on my windows 10 system, when i try to launch the odyssey version of my game it just crashes out and the crash reporter pops up. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm tousling with the same problem myself, except the crash reporter doesn't appear. So far, support has suggested updating drivers (which were already up to date), validating the game files (fair enough, but it made no difference) and making sure I send in a crash report (from the crash reporter that doesn't appear).

Their next advice (that I haven't tried yet, but seems good) is to use mconfig to start up a clean boot and see if the game works that way.

Basically, I'd advise doing those steps and then putting in a support ticket if it still doesn't work.

It's not my first time using a computer or trouble shooting, restarting did not help.
Verified the steam data, and it came back fine.
I had ended up having to delete the steam install and the preferences for the game.

Mine just started working again all by itself. That's good, but it's also bad because it could easily STOP working again all by itself.

The only thing that's happened in the meantime is the server tick.

I had this to begin with, I verified the files via Steam and it found some that needed fixing. After that it launched no problem.

I had a few crashes, in my case it was because I had a million browser tabs open causing my system to have less RAM available to Elite. Once I freed up some RAM it ran fine.
That's probably not the problem others are facing but thought I'd mention it just in case. Odyssey seems to want a little more memory than Horizons.
