Engineers Crashed craft

Hi All

Just wanted to ask how many people have encounter crashed spacecraft such as diamondbacks on surfaces of planets? Do these spawn strictly as missions? or do they spawn randomly as POIs? So far iv done quite a lot of surface flying and also driving, but have yet to find anything more than the usual smashed up bits of debris. Just looking for tips

Iv seen the Anaconda crashed on
Pleiades Sector JC-U B3-2 Planet 1
It is located at the following coordinates... 20.8736 - 91.6983
There are a few barnacles in its general vicinity within 100KM or so... ish

Nothing smaller however

I came across this after I received a mail titled Tip Off that gave the system and planet with planet coordinates also said it had encrypted data and my computer had been fitted with a gizmo to decode.
Flew there and found this unfortunate ship, scanned it and got a data package worth 750,00 credits.

Also not far from the crash were lots and lots of canisters containing the usual commodities.

Same here. The ship was a Diamondback and the data package was worth a whopping 1,000,000 cr. Only a few cargo cannisters though. I quite liked this unexpected adventure. I expected to be attacked once on the surface but nothing happened. When I left a bounty hunter in a Fer de Lance showed up but he left after scanning me and saying the usual "You're clear to go".

I was attacked by three Imperial Eagles as I came in to land near the crash site. It was a 3G world so it was interesting to say the least that close to the surface. Had one minor scrape that took 2 rings of the shield down. Luckily the iEagles were only novice, mostly harmless and competent ranked and I was in a Python with a 6A shield and military armour.
