Horizons Crashed Nav Beacon Morse Code

Has anyone tried deciphering the morse code from a crashed Nav Beacon yet?

From what I understand they normally transmit the name of the system they're in but I wondered if they still do the same when crashed on a planet/moon. I found one over 1000Ly from Sol and had a go at deciphering it without much success. I expect this is down to me having no experience with Morse code so I was wondering if anyone else has had any luck.

Yes, beacons transmit the system name. It's being transmitted around 20-25 words per minute. Being an Amateur radio operator I love hearing the beacon code. There are smart phone apps where if you can get a good audio it will translate.

I'd flip out if I ever get a CQ CQ DE ... signal in the black. This means calling all stations, calling all stations, this is ...

Why are we finding these things so far from the bubble?

((Rhetorical question - unfortunately I know the answer.))

I think they were all launched by accident, after a hacker infiltrated the NAV Beacon manufacturer and made some Copy&Paste errors in what should have been a mere joke code.

Encoded with "Bring all your {Commodity} here!", they lured Millions of AI-Controlled Trade Ships into the black.
Billions of tons of Tea, Animal Meat, Battle Weapons, Personal Weapons, Narcotics, Gold and many other Commodities vanished into the Black, together with Millions of Ships - never to be seen again.

The NAV Beacon manufacturer only managed to transmit a massive recode-update (B.R.O.K.E.N) into the darkness, but that's all they could do.

The rest is history... :D
