Crashing when opening Galaxy Map

Was coming back from the black trying to find the nearest repair facility on the galaxy map when the game crashed. After restarting the game (even rebooted my computer) my route was empty and every time I try to access the galaxy map the game just crashes. Haven't had any issues before...

At what point is it crashing - when it's trying to replot the route? Do you get an error message, or does it just drop you back to Windows? Haven't seen this before personally, perhaps try jumping to another system by selecting one on the left panel, and then see if the galaxy map starts working from this fresh start point?

I've not been on game since server main this morning, but aside from possible issues with servers after todsy's maintenance, other sggestions wouls be ensure graphics and sound drivers are up to date, and verify game files. Can you plot elsewhere for instance. If you are out in the black and need to find the nearest DSSA or other service carrier, Megaship, Or deep space outpost, the Interactive Galaxy map at edastro.com might be able to help.

I sometimes see a freeze EXITING galaxy map after plotting. But that is leaving galmap, not launching it or plotting.

The game just crashed to dekstop without any message
when I tried to open the Galaxy map. Strange enough jumping to a different system fixed the problem
