Crazy Kamikaze NPC's...anyone experiencing this?

Over the last couple of weeks, I have noticed that the NPC pirates have taken to traveling as fast as their little ships will go and ram right into me at Haz Res sites...
It has been a little irritating but they typically bounce off (now shieldless) and I kill them instantly just out of principle for ramming me....
Then last night...ugh....had been in the Haz Res for about an hour....pushing 3 million in bounties....take on an Anaconda winged with 2 pythons.....ok, got them all but shields are down....all pips to shields and cruising slowly among the asteroids as the shields charge....
Out of thin air appears this FAS to my left moving as fast as the thing can move (swear it's boost speed)....nose down and he adjusts course....BAM!
Instant 29 million credit rebuy for the Corvette....unbelievable...lol

Anyone else experiencing these crazy NPC's...?

Yes except it was at the station and it was the security patrol for the last couple of days. Cost me my ship was clear and boost away but he boosted at me from behind and ram me.I should have waited a bit. Lesson learn.

It's happened to me once. I've no idea if it was a pirate or not, and it destroyed itself on my shields (giving me a 6k bounty for killing it!).

Yes ramming does seem to be a preferred strategy in Res sites.
Maybe that's why we now have bi-weave shields. Although even a standard 5A shield seems to recharge pretty quick on a FAS.
While it's great to have more things to shoot at in Res sites the ramming does get to be a bit of a pain. NPC ships do seem to be able to avoid asteroids better though!
Some tweaking is in order.
Mind you if you're flying a ship as big as a Corvette in a Res you're pretty hard to avoid anyway ;)

Nah, don't think it's a deliberate tactic, it's just a coding bug. You don't ram anybody while flying an Eagle! ;)

It also doesn't explain why cops would ram you at stations you are allied with!

A couple of days ago, at a nav beacon on a mission killing 22 pirates, it seemed completely ridiculous. More than 10 friendlies bumped into me, or tried, even when I was standing still. Finished the mission, and then someone finally killed themselves on my shields and I got wanted.

It isn't just RES sites - I challenge anyone to go to the nearest nav beacon, cut throttle and sit stationary for a couple of minutes.

It begins with the notification:

"Scan detected";

Followed by:

Crunch. Shields diminished a little...

This happens a lot. A real lot. Needs fixing. Among other things, but not going to hold my breath.

I'm also reasonably surprised that there hasn't been a glut of responses already telling the OP that it was his own fault for "not having situational awareness", and that " this is your own fault for not monitoring your scanner", and other such notions.

This is like the third or fourth thread on this subject. Um, yeah, they Ram you from the front, the sides, and the back. They do not discriminate on size or position. So be prepared to get rammed. Or, do some ramming yourself, if it feels good, do it.

:)

"gameplay" !

Don't get me wrong Cmdr's....not whining about dying and a re-buy at all....doesn't faze me a bit....I do agree that it was my own fault for not boosting the minute I heard FAS engines (there was no "scan detected" at all)....
My fault I died....as someone above mentioned to be "prepared to be rammed"....
Just didn't know if anyone else was experiencing the same thing and didn't see the other threads before posting this....sorry for the redundancy...

**Thank you FalconFly....I had not seen the Known Issues update
