Creating a light show

Can anyone help.

I am in the midst of creating a haunted house and I want to have a light show that acts as lightning.

How do I get a spot light to come on only for a 10th of a second before going off, and then on again to give the appearance of flashing. When I tried last night (I was tired) it was coming on and staying on for a good second.

Any help appreciated.

So I have solved my issue.

But how do I do the following.

I wish my house to be lit during the nights in purple. Then every hour those lights go off, for there to be lightning flashes. Can't seem to master it as yet.

Hmmm. Well, you could probably do it like this:

* The light show and the purple lights would all be on the same sequencer, and the sequencer itself is set to go off continuously every hour on the hour.

* In the sequencer, you'd have the display group(s) for the light show and determine it's duration in seconds.

* As soon as the light show ends, you'd have another display group that turns on the purple lights.

* You edit the purple lights themselves (not via the sequencer) to have trigger durations of 3600 - (duration of light show).

So, at the top of each hour, the display sequencer is triggered and goes immediately into the light show. As soon as the light show is over, the purple lights come on and remain on for the rest of the hour. By having this happen every hour, you can be sure that if darkness doesn't fall on an even hour, the house will be purple for a while to start with, until the top of the hour.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Bullethead.

I decided to have the lightning over the purple as it was easier and works just fine.

Scott.
