Credits carry over into release?

Hi,

I'm just curious if anyone knows if Credits we earn in the Beta will carry over into the release game? Just trying to decide how much effort i want to put into making money vs. just messing around to see how stuff works.

I assume they don't carry over, but I read that they didn't wipe credits when they did previous server "wipes" so it got me curious.

I just don't want to stick a bunch of time trading and stuff to save up money if I'm just going to lose it all anyway.

Any input you have would be great! :)

I'm not bothering making more cash now. I've bought a viper, loaded it up with guns and saved around 100k in credits to cover insurance for a while. I'm now just practicing dogfighting and having lots of fun!

Sorry that's not answered your question I just wanted to add my thoughts on the money making/ saving philosophy

there will be at least ONE complete wipe, so no, anything will be lost before gamma ;)

but you will keep your experience and that's the most precious thing we have now :)

Some folk will have different start options but apart from that we are starting from scratch as it should be :p

I put a bunch of hours into making 25 mill, essentially so I could play with everything available without financial concerns.
I don't regret it one bit.
Learned a heap from doing lots of runs, and my docking procedure in big ships is now tight and fast.

Might not be able to take the credits with me but certainly can take my skills.

.... that very much depends on what you mean by "full release".

Frontier have stated that there are not expected to be any wipes between the release of Gamma and the game going final (but, obviously, they reserve the right to in the event that they require to do so after patching an exploit / bug / hack / etc.).

Awesome.. Thanks for the replies everyone!

I've already earned 13 million on top of my decked out Anaconda... I'll just start spending more time killing stuff/playing with things for a while then until Gamma gets released.

decking out an Ana just wit missiles, it will make the system vibrate with life .. ehrrr death. 10 mill goes a long way.
