Managed to get a couple of fights under my belt. In the process I punched my TV. Luckily it was just a left jab, not a full power punch... lesson learned. For those not familiar with it, it is of course a boxing game and you star as Apollo Creed, an up and coming boxer. You practice in a gym punching bags etc and fighting various opponents. The game mechanics are simple, block with your gloves, dodge by physically moving and hit back. It gives you a real sense of achievement when you manage to knock down an opponent, getting a knockout is a good feeling too.
If you take too many punches your blocks get knocked aside then it switches to a camera behind you and you move your hands to fit the position shown on the 'screen' yes it sounds odd from a VR perspective but it doesn't feel out of place, and it works well. Similarly when you get knocked down the camera view zooms out away from the ring, and you must run back to your body before the count runs out, again it sounds odd, but works very well.
The only downside is the fake tired arms, you run out of energy and need to stop punching, if you keep throwing punches they lack power and lag behind your real hands, with ghost images to let you know. This isn't too great.
I am glad I have a powerful tower fan cooler blowing cool air at me while playing this though
