Creepiest and Deadly Animals

Since its the Spooky month, I feel like as Planet Zoo fans we should talk about our most scariest animals. For me my scariest animal is the Humbolt Squid they can hunt in packs up to 1000 and one time almost completely drowned a man bringing them down the sea level in a Scuba Suit. Pretty deadly guys IMO.

All kinds of deep sea creatures are... well, not scary per se, but so alien to me.

Like this Barreleye fish, you can practically see its eye balls through its transparent head. What the hell.

What do you mean? Night Monkeys are the cutest creatures 🤩 I saw them in Amersfoort Zoo two weeks ago, and they were adorable. That zoo also have Hamadryas baboons and they looked so creepy in comparison.

I'm sorry about posting three times in a row. To me one of the creepiest looking animals may be the Surinam Toad. I'm not going to send a photo because I didn't figure out how to hide it if you don't want to see the thing 🤷🏻‍♀️

Well, I'm gonna have to go with something more basic and say trapdoor spiders.

I mean, imagine if they were the size of a dog. You're walking in the forest and you come across a tripwire. You look up and see odd tripwires and webs everywhere, and they all lead to a strange area on the ground. So, as you back up you accidentally touch a wire. Suddenly, you feel the earth loving, and then that weird area opens up and a spider jumps out, pins you down, bites you, them drags you down under its burrow to eat you...

Yeah, that's how insects and other creepy crawlies probably feel whenever they cross paths with the trapdoor spider. But at least they're small and not some J'ba Fofi-type thing

Edit: here's a pic. I hate spiders, but I torture myself by reading and writing about them:

Wait, people think giant wētā are scary? To each their own, but I think they’re adorable! Look at this dude enjoying her big carrot, she’s not bothering anyone :<

Anyways, I guess I’m kinda freaked out by chimps; five years into the game and I’m only just now planning to use them in my current zoo. I don’t wanna villainize them though, they’re just animals doing animal things.

If we’re including extinct animals though, I love how alien most recent re-constructions of non-avian dinosaurs sound, like this T.Rex for example:

IMO, it’s way scarier than the mammalian roars so often used in media, but it’s less of an “oh god why” for me and more of a fearful awe of the fact that there was a real creature like this. I much prefer dinosaurs as real animals than movie monsters, even if they’re sometimes even freakier as the former tbh.

I agree (although I like the movie monsters of done right)
I feel like feathered dinos are much scarier than scaly dinos anyway. It's like, imagine going to Jurassic Park but everything is just a cassowary. Big cassowaries, little cassowaries, cassowaries that open doors, cassowaries that swim, cassowaries that fly, genetically engineered cassowaries

On a slightly different tack, I'm going for the Jaguar from Dartmoor zoo (the one that escaped of "We bought a zoo" fame)

I've never felt more like I was being sized up for lunch!

(not my photo, but I do have a similar one buried somewhere)

Chimpanzees are really scary to me. I mean, I like to see them in a safe situation and they're just animals doing what they do and all, but their strength is just very frightening. I blame the film "Nope".

Humboldt squid, huh? You just watched Casual Geographic's new video, didn't ya? Or did you know about them before then?

Here's some animals that would get me praying to God if I encountered them in the wild and they decided to choose violence:
  • Basically any highly poisonous/venomous animal
  • Chimpanzee
  • Moose
  • Polar Bear
  • Sloth Bear
  • Grizzly Bear
  • Hippopotamus
  • Any cat of the Panthera genus
  • Cassowary
  • Crocodiles
  • Baboons
  • Bison
  • Takin
And that's just off the top of my head.

Knew before, there was a guy who survived an Attack and his go pro footage showed him absolutely getting dragged down to the deep by Humbolt Squids biting into his scuba gear
