At a glance there is no way to differentiate between an actual ship and fighters without scanning them. And we don't always have time for that. If a player sees 4 triangles hitting them they are bound to run as they should. But it would nice to be able to tell if you are being attacked by a wing or simply a crewed ship just by looking at radar. Tactical vision and all that.
