Crime and punishment, skyrim style + a side of sidewinder

Maybe it has been discussed before, but google did not return anything relevant... so here goes.

I was thinking about the poor sidewinder getting irrelevant as more and more people get into better spaceships.

And I was also thinking about how ED universe is far too lenient on crime.

I think it would be a nice idea to have a justice system similar to Skyrim.

If you have a criminal record (ship destruction, piracy, smuggling, smoking in a public place) police force will actively seek you after scan and contact you.
"SURRENDER or else ! ! ! "

So you have the choice. Flee/Kill more cops etc.

Or surrender.

If you surrender, all the bounties are paid. If you wronged human players, they also get a share of your money for insurance purpose (as any court of justice would do).

If you do not have enough money to pay everything, your ships are temporarily impounded and you have to serve in disciplinary units of sidewinders in war zones or RES until you paid all your debts.
Each bounty kill goes toward working to repay your debts.

You can ask to be released earlier, but in that case part of your ships equipment is restored to default loadout to pay for the difference.

I think this way, if you dedicate your life to crime, you better be the best at not being caught either. And if you commited a small crime, it's far more easier to pay the fine to the local cops.

"I am the Earl of the Empire/Ensign of the Federation, You have to let me go.."
"yessir, i didn´t knew.."

"I am the Earl of the Empire/Ensign of the Federation, You have to let me go.."
"yessir, i didn´t knew.."

In fact, that's is a good idea... A good reputation would allow you to pull ranks and make the cops brown his pants if he stops you for a misely 200cr...
