Crimes on missions carrying over

I'm not sure if it is just me or others have found this problem but i did a settlement kill mission today i incurred bounties due to this and the other day i was in super cruise and got interdicted and attacked and when i fought back i incurred bounties again i am wondering why it is like this

Probably a bounty hunter trying to collect on the existing bounty, therefore killing them was a crime because they were performing a legal mission.

What the user above said.

It's simple:
  • If you got a bounty it's because you committed criminal actions.
  • If you have a bounty, bounty hunters can attack you.
  • If you attack back you are committing once more a criminal act.
Why are you surprised that your bounty stays after the mission? (by your tiltle "crimes carryying over").
Actions have consequences, they don’t just get wiped. That wouldn’t make any sense.
(though you can clear all sins at an interstellar factor)

Solution in few simple steps:

1) pledge Archon Delaine
2) reach Rank 100
3) do your crime biz in Archon Delaine space as you will not receive fines/bounties anymore

Win/win

Another solution: Be a real merc and stop caring about bounties. Pay them at the IF when applicable, hand yourself in from time to time if you happen to gain notoriety.

Fair enough i didn't think of that but any idea why i incurred bounties after a kill the target mission and thank you for the feed back

Fair enough but why did it carry over from the kill the target mission you should not gain bounties from killing the target i can understand if you kill others but the target has a kill order so it should be bounties free and look i don't go out of my way to commit crimes i have had the occasional miss hap while learning ground combat but for the most part i have been bounties free

I think someone else has already clarified this.
Anyway, just to add my 2 cents: don’t just assume that any mission you’re given is legal.
Factions aren’t the police, the fact that they give you missions, doesn't mean that they can do whatever they like and that anything they ask is legal.
They’re just corporations looking out for their own interests. This applies to any power, faction, or minor faction. So sometimes they like to hire mercenaries to do their dirty work.
