Crimes while docked?

I had a problem this morning while I was docked at "Gooch Barracks" planet side in the "Fousang" system.
I was selecting a hyperspace destination on the left panel and received a verbal message to maintain safe separation. The next thing i know I'm under attack on the pad from the outpost defences and am listed as wanted 6000 credit bounty.
I entered the hanger but the attack continued and when I launched I was destroyed in about 2 seconds. 9.5 million credit out of pocket for insurance.

How is it possible for this to happen? Anybody else suffer similar?

This sounds like a bug to me. Docked means that your ship is not navigating. I would log a ticket for it. If you can give FDev all the relevant information they should be able to determine what has happened, and restore your funds, etc.. The fact that your were docked (and could, in effect, be deemed to be a temporary part of station furniture) but got a safe separation message seems wrong. It would be like a person had legitimately parked their car, had somebody crash into it, but the police then considered the parked car was at fault and caused the accident.

It may be that somebody tried a 'Suicidwinder' kill, in that they were in a crippled vessel, and rammed your ship. What they have done in the past is to get a weak ship, cripple it further, and then look for any vessels travelling at speed (in excess of 100) near to the station. If they ram such a vessel, and the crippled ship then explodes, the Station deems the speeding ship to be at fault, and takes action against that ship.

I have this habit of entering the hanger the moment I have the option to do so. That way my vessel should not be damaged by any drifting debris, and should also be safe from any person trying to cause me harm.

you got an dormant bounty and system security scanned you on the pad.

or you had a fine which turned into a bounty and got scanned.

those would be my ideas.

ticket logged for a bug.
My ship was a python, upgraded and suffered no damage on the pad. only after launch.
I had no bounties on me at the time. dormant or otherwise.

I had a similar situation once - docked on a planet in solo doing stuff on the other monitor, discovered I was under attack by station security. In that case it seemed as though I wasn't taking any damage (are you invulnerable when on the pad?). I logged off to the menu, came back in, and the bounty and wanted status had vanished. Phantom bounties that disappear after logging back on have been a thing for a while now, I assumed it was one of those.

Definitely ticket it, if you don't recall dormant bounties or anything that might explain a sudden legit wanted status.

I had already cashed in my missions and checked for more so I was on the pad for quite a while before this happened.
I should have logged out and then back in before launching, just to see if it cleared it, hindsight's wonderful.
