Critical Blocker: Game consistently crashes when plotting route

I have submitted an issue ticket https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/71553 There seems to be a backlog with issues not loading, hopefully it went through ok.

For the last two days or so I have been encountering a critical bug where the client consistently crashes back to the desktop every time I attempt to plot a route in the galaxy map.
Everything else in the game seems to work normally. I can load into the game perfectly fine and fly around in supercruise, but the moment I hold to plot a route, when the progress bar reaches the end it immediately crashes to desktop. There is also no Error Reporting window showing up after the crash, only the launcher.

Does anyone know if there is another way to plot a route outside the GalMap?

Checks I've done so far:
  • Updated GPU drivers
  • Verified game files (Steam)
  • Switched between solo and online modes
  • Plotting routes via different menus in the GalMap (Plotting via bookmarks, using the plot route button, etc.) - all crash the same.

I guess the last resort is to reinstall the game. Such bad timing during a CG specifically focused on high volume system scanning. I'm completely trapped in one system :(

Just to expand in case you are unaware, there's plotting a route using the route plotter, and alternatively on the right menu of the galmap there's an icon to just target a system within jump range that doesn't involve plotting a route, just targeting a star, this can also be done using the nav panel of course. If it's the particular system you are in that's causing the issue with the route plotter this may help you get out.

It appears your issue hasn't made it through the issue creation lottery. This comment has some info about how to be sure you're creating a valid issue.

Though you only mention "hold to plot" method, I guess you also tried using the route button (no holding required) on the right side of the map?

Did you try manually targeting a star and jumping to it? This resolved a similar sounding problem from last November.
 
Many thanks for the excellent suggestions. I had totally forgotten about the manual jump to targeted system.
This allowed me to jump out successfully, and then the 'Press to Hold' function no longer crashed the client.

As a test to see if it was the system causing the bug, I returned to the location I was in and the issue immediately returned.

The problem system is COL 173 SECTOR BG-N B23-5 adjacent to the Regor Sector permit lock zone.

Ah that makes sense, it was missing the Hardware fields the first time. Looks like it's a browser issue on my end (Brave). It works normally in Vivaldi browser.
