Crossbreeding: Your Thoughts

I've been reading a lot about hybrids lately, and it's quite interesting to me the whole process: how some hybrids are sterile while others are fertile, how some are only in zoos (both accidentally and purposely), and how some happen in the wild and can thrive.

Now, I know this has been brought up before and most didn't like it, but it's been a few years since and I'm quite curious as to what y'all think about this, maybe as a future feature.

For clarification, I don't want a hybrid, say a liger, take over a DLC slot.

My idea for this is that I'm not necessarily against it, but I'm not begging for it either. I think it'll be an interesting way to kinda show how hybridization is not good, but not always bad. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but somebody mentioned that Bengal tigers that aren't in India are hybrids and Galapagos tortoises are hybrids, as well?

The hybrids that I am most familiar with
Cocktail Oranguatans are hybrids of borean and sumatran orangutans. At the time it wasn’t well known that they were a separate species. Fear of “hybrid vigor” is real with them and their gene pool is a risk to natural orangutans.
Coywolves are an animal that lives in the wild and was made naturally yet due to human interference. Wolves were eradicated from most of New England except for a few pockets, once an apex predator is removed from an ecosystem, another can move in, while there are plenty of bears still in New England, coyotes started to appear. As they moved into New England they encountered the remaining wolves and crossbred with them. I currently reside in Maine and have heard of people encountering them and they are very aggressive.
The Wolphin a cross between 2 types of dolphins the false killer whale (technically a dolphin) and a bottle nose dolphin. Very few have ever existed and it doesn’t seem natural. Also I don’t believe the places that have had them are AZA credited

Anyway I think it may be a sad subject that perhaps frontier will steer away from . Maybe this could be a topic on a conservation board.

Grolar bears (grizzly polar bear hybrids) are another that I'm pretty sure occur in the wild due to the ice melt in the arctic pushing polar bears southward (please do correct me if I'm wrong though). I very much don't want hybrid animals in the game, but I wouldn't mind them being an education board topic like the previous response.

I wouldn’t want it, but at the same time it’s weird to say I want gameplay options restricted. I understand Frontier wants to show planet zoo as a modern zoo game, but if people want to make a “bad zoo” that would actually be interesting to see.

My idea behind it was that you could breed them (if you wanna make a "bad zoo" or if you're more of using the animals as attractions over education), or maybe we could get a challenge every so often where we gotta take care of a hybrid because the last facility can't care for it. The hybrid cannot be sold and, depending on the type, can't be bred. However, they are popular with groups of people and can attract more guests, therefore bringing more profit to the zoo...

Basically, a tweaked version I had about the colormorphs, specifically the colormorphs that cants survive in the wild...

I would love this in franchise or challenge mode, taking in animals that shouldn’t be pets/ from a bad facility/ from a facility that can’t care for them anymore. That way you could get hybrids in your zoo (grolar bear, liger, etc) but still maintain an ethical zoo. I would like to see that for wild animals too, like if you play in North America you could get a bald Eagle by taking care of an injured one that can’t be released.

Im firmly against crossbreeding and hybrids both on a species and subspecies level, atleast in real life. In a game i wouldnt really care, but i guess it might send the wrong message
They not only add nothing to the conservation mission of zoos but activly work against it since they muddle up they gene pool, if they can breed at all. Otherwise they are pretty much "dead stock". In addition to that they are more likely to have health problems

Remember what happened in Jurassic world when they made the Indominous Rex? They made the Indo Raptor and then confusing raptors in the other movies. I mean she was bioengineered to attract guests with her menacing abilities and characteristics.
Joking aside
Let’s say we get coywolves, there’s a story to tell with these animals and the dangers of species removal. Like I said before this wasn’t a forced hybrid created by people but resulted from human impact. There could be educational value in learning about these animals.
Cocktail orangutans are just simply a sad story where we tried to help but made a problem worse. Should guests learn the whole truth about them then that could cause a bit of sadness (I know it’s just a game), but in the end get a good education lesson.
Either way if these hybrids were to appear:
They should have a no release rule and and no breeding rule
Also we don’t have coyotes or Sumatran orangutans
