Crossplatform - Time for all commanders to be able to play all together?

Recently I read that No Man's Sky and the incoming SW Squadron will allow players for every platform to play together. These add to the recently growing list of full crossplatform games (mainly competitive games like Fornite, Rocket League...)

So maybe FDEV could consider the possibility to put an end to the schism between console and PC galaxies?

What do you think?

Cross-Platform Save / Progress

I want to play Elite: Dangerous on both my PC and Xbox one. I would buy an Xbox version of the game, but I cannot justify it right now since I would lose all progress from PC. I know you have one time transfers, but that is not a solution for me because I want to play on PC sometimes and on...

It's not all in their power tho, crossplay was always more of a console manufacturer limitation. There is a way to share save progress, but you would still be limited to seeing only players on the same platform (Destiny 2 has done that for example)

Looks like manufacturers are relaxing their limitations. Though I'm talking more about cross-platform multiplayer than crossplay.

If the devs can't be bothered to make vr work for odyssey what makes you think they could be capable of crossplatform, if the engine itself can even do it.

There was that one report where a xbox commander said he bought a PC account, requested an asset transfer, logged in prematurely on PC and found himself looking at his xbox commander. 🤷‍♂️
