Crystal Shards missing

I kept coordinates for planets and where on the planets the Crystal Shards would be. But they are gone. I went to 3 different planets that I have always went to
to collect Antimony and now the Crystal Shard forest is gone.. one coordinate took me to the middle of a crater that did not use to be there.

I think they are different now in Odyssey, sounds like they're either nerfed or bugged right now if you do find them on the planets tho.

Instead of whining about the issues on the forums go to issue tracker and confirm related issues or create a new ones, devs do not watch these forums.
I've had great issues logging into the Issue tracker (pi), but after the Odyssey release I decided that some of the bugs were so game breaking for me (in VR), that I brute forced my way in there and both confirmed, upvoted and gave my alpha tester 5c. I was "happy" to see that many other CMDRs could confirm the issues I had, and that some of them were very high on the list. Then came the patches with totally irrelevant stuff, and the "roadmap" with no mention of the issues we had, whatsoever.

That Issue Tracker seems like a distraction, and nothing else. Kind of like "We going to investigate that" (until everyone hopefully forgets).

Odyssey planets are different terrain to Horizons ones, so coordinates are changed (even surface bases have been moved around)

If you DSS map the planet you should get a blue overlay which can be changed to show areas in which crystal shards appear (there will be a lot of them - there are far more shards on the planets than there used to be) then fly low and slow in those areas until you see a cluster.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but the planets are not the same as they were in Horizons.

Dr Kay Ross did say the organics will still be on the planets, but distributed differently in accordance with the new system.

There is/was an issue with them not dropping the correct mats, but as far as I’m aware they’re still on the same planets.

Might potentially depend on how hard the bugs are to correct: some might take a long time, or they do not yet know how long they will take to fix. In the meantime, they fix other stuff.

Reality check time:

Some of the old issues are very old, and still haven't been fixed. Fdev fixes what they decide to fix, and it does not seem that the Issue Tracker has much influence on that. In Patch 2:

"Fixed a typo on the back door of the Cobra MkIII and Cobra MkIV"

Who cares?!?

Also, the low hanging fruits won't cut it, with regards to some of the game breakers. Those need to be fixed, regardless of them being "hard problems" taking "long time".

i scanned with my DSS on 2 of the planets.. NOTHING.. it shows some wreckage..power plant.. artificial structures.. NO Bio or Geo on them

Not all planets have life or significant geological features. Maybe try scanning a few more.

Sorry, thought I was on another thread. Sounds like a bug to be reported.

They are there, I checked them out first thing, but they are no longer in concentrated forests, they are distributed widely across the area of the planet indicated in the location map, so you won't find them by POI's. When I visted they didn't have mats, but that's a bug they have since corrected, however I think the low level mat bug will still affect them, if it is indeed a bug and not intentional.

Does anyone know if that was a typo introduced with Odyssey? or has it been sitting there for seven years! :D

one of the planets I scanned with the DSS USE to have 5 large Crystal Shard forest... now none.. I found ONE planet with some Crystal shards and when you collected the shards they were only IRON.

They don't appear in forests, I have already explained that. The old POI system where bio appeared in just a couple of spots has gone for good, they appear all over the planet according to the location map in the DSS, no longer in just a couple of patches. I also pointed out the bug where bio and geo are only dropping low level mats, that's in the post two posts above yours.

The POIs no long exist. There is a known bug where the shards aren’t giving the high level mats - you could always go vote it up - and if you’re not getting the blue indicator when using the DSS, that’s another bug that should be reported.

This among many other problems.. pretty much ruins the game for me. Ive been playing ED over 2000 hrs.. It took a lot of grinding work... I have 8 Ships I like... I have a combat ship in a Mamba that I am trying to engineer.. over all this time of playing.. I got specific things I can do to get the MATs that I need... Like Jameson crash for encoded that I can trade for what I need... Davs hope and high level systems I can go and get manufactured.. Raw use to be just filling up with antimony and trading what I need... Now that is done.. I dropped on to 2 planets to search for Raw Mat... it was supposed to be rich in raw matts.. pristine... with some important stuff like Selenium.. i went around on my SRV searching and searching.. every outcrop or Chondrite.. etc.. gave me low level stuff that I already have huge amounts of.... Iron, Sulfur, Carbon. nothing better.

Log into Horizons. 🤷‍♂️
