CTRL left click not working

After playing the alpha since early alpha two I figured out how to select multiple walls with CTRL left click. I tried selecting scenery and building attachments but wasn't able to so i assumed you couldn't, I noticed there was a button for selecting multiple objects was coming soon and thought selecting scenery would be possible then.

after watching the amazing Silvarret build he seems to frequently copy multiple scenery objects in order to create complex builds. Every post has stated that you use CTRL and left click to do this but it only works on walls for me.

I haven't seen anyone else with this problem.. any help would be appreciated!!

Well i have the same issue and i don't know if I am the Problem or if it's a Bug. I can select multiple Parts of the same Building, but when i try to select stuff like Pillars or other Objects that aren't strictly Parts of a Building, it won't work. I made a custom Lamp and wanted to Copy it to other places and i can't do it :(

Houston, I have the same problem over here.

From experience Ctrl + left click only works on walls as they haven't released the full multiselect yet. I'm wondering if the user you mention is using the duplicate function (Ctrl+D).

Thanks for replying, I am not 100% sure if it's Ctrl left click or Ctrl D but he, and a range of other youtubers, can somehow select say 10 planks of driftwood which looks like a bench and it acts as a building without any wall pieces. This means he can copy these pieces over and over.

The problem I'm experiencing is the inability to select more than one plank (or any other scenery item) at a time, as they do. Even when I duplicate my buildings using the duplicate tool none of the building attachments copy over within lol

Thanks again, Lemon

Exactly the same problem! Out of curiosity, when you select a building attachment it is supposed to fix itself onto whatever surface your cursor is on. Eg if you select a window and put your cursor over the ground the window would face up from the ground and if it was on a wall then it would be facing whatever direction the wall is.

When I select things like Windows, doors and most building attachments they don't fix... They are always sideways. For example if I were to click on a window and move my cursor to flat ground it would face up but if I moved it to a wall it would stil face up, not the direction of the wall..... Have to use the rotation tool to fix everything XD

Not sure if our problems are related or if my game is especially broken lol

UPDATE:

for anyone experiencing this issue there is a way around it.

you need to start with a building, big, small, a single wall underground, doesn't matter

to attach scenery to the building you need to be in edit mode for that building then click the scenery tab

before placing your scenery press 'X' to bring up the advanced placement tool and then place your scenery

now your scenery will be attached to the building, you can duplicate and move around your creations to your hearts content!

enjoy!!
