Cultural Research: Deciphered Ancient Data 7

Dear commanders,

I faced some difficulties while completing the mission from Rem Tah "Deciphering the Ancient Ruins". Scanned all entries except for one: Cultural Research: Deciphered Ancient Data 7. Used data and maps from https://edsy.org/gsopt.html and Cannon Research when going through. Everything went perfectly except for one record, which I wrote about. When you arrive at the ruins and find the right obelisk, it turns out that there is other data there (only the Totem icon is drawn, which corresponds to other entries). I checked about 8 systems where I could find the fragment I needed, but everywhere the same.

Has anyone done this mission recently and where did you find Cultural Research: Ancient Data Deciphered 7? Or maybe someone also experienced the same thing as me. Please help or direct me to someone who might be able to.

Did you try COL 173 SECTOR RH-C B29-1 | B 3 | -3.0358, -117.0636 (Beta)? https://ruins.canonn.tech/#GR210 K26 with orb+totem should do the trick.

Unfortunately, it didn't help. As before, the desired obelisk does not have these data, as well as the image of only the totem. When scanning a totem, research 7 does not appear. So it was in all systems where I looked for this data. I'm attaching a screenshot.

Ok this is weird. I did the second mission from ram tah just recently and the guide from canonn was still accurate and I was able to finish it as described. The fact that the first one does not work now but there was a patch for it in the last update makes me suspicious about this. So I'll do it again as a proof of concept after the major update 15.

Please tell us where you took the screenshot, is it from COL 173 SECTOR RH-C B29-1 or somewhere else?

There is another system where it should be available: synuefe zl-j d10-109 e3:

As you can see c7 has the combination of totem and orb, so lets try this one and see what happens.

And what is your mother tongue?

I had suspicions that updates could be the culprit, so perhaps the reason and the truth is this. It would be nice if you tried to get the data in any system where it should be.

Yes, my screenshot was taken today on this system, near K26.

As for the synuefe zl-j d10-109 e3 system, I was there and the result was negative. On the element I need, the image of the totem, as in my screenshot. In every system I have had this situation, everywhere instead of a combination of totem + orb there is only a totem.

I just got it from synuefe zl-j d10-109 with orb+totem in my cargo (and I made a video of it) and afterwards I used the same combination on the next obelisk to obain culture 12. So the guide is still valid.

I'm confused. Now I'm thinking what's wrong with me.

I will visit the synuefe zl-j d10-109 system again (now probably in 10 days, as I will be away for work), but I am afraid that the result will be disappointing.

Tell me, please, did you do it in online mode or in single player mode?

Were there images of a totem and an orb on the obelisk?

I did it in solo mode in live/odyssey. There was only one symbol on the obelisk, which was the totem.

I watched the video, thanks.

I also had only a totem in all systems, but when scanning new data it doesn’t appear, as if I’m squeezing the data I already have. I looked through all the records that I have and there are no data among them.

How can I try to do it online, before that I played in solo mode.

I am now in another city at work and do not have access to a PC. I will be able to enter the game only on July 24th. If it is interesting and there is free time, we can try to play in open play or private group mode.

There is one set of symbols that applies to two pieces of data.
I think the Cannon map merely recorded the symbols and assigned the data arbitrarily. As such it was a case of brute forcing the final piece. You might have to compile a list of sites with the right symbol and just work through it.

Just to check the obvious: do you still have the Ram Tah mission active (it hasn't expired) when scanning the obelisks?

I did it in 4 playsessions, in total def. less than 8 hours in game. The first session was scanning all obelisks without the tissues (but including one or two with sensor+probe). The next 3 playsessions started with obtaining a tissue sample and then going straight to the obelisk to scan it. I think I was lucky with the tissues, for the medusa tissue I got help by an experienced ax cmdr who found one in an uss in the pleiades and distracted it until I got it. If you dont have an ax maverik at hand its going to be (very) difficult to get all samples in my opinion. This mission is designed to be done with a team.

I had this ideas as well, the other one was that he is on the right planet but at wrong beta site scanning the wrong obelisk. He will be back in 10 days, until then we cant figure out what hes doing wrong.

As long as you sample interceptors that don't turn instantly aggressive (i.e. ones from the Pleiades or Coalsack areas, not ones from near the maelstroms), it's not too difficult. Keeping the ship in silent running can keep you hidden for the entire time needed for the sampling to finish and the interceptor won't even attack.

I thought about it, but haven't done it yet, as it will take a lot of time to select the right configuration. Moreover, Alkibiades was able to get the necessary data with the image of the totem on the obelisk (although there was a totem and an orb in the cargo hold).
