Curious are NPC's actually delivering goods?

Watching a video of someone monitor NPC's and Players leaving stations got me thinking, do NPC's carrying goods actually deliver them to the station they dock is. That is to say if you noticed that a station is selling 4 Gold and you scan down a NPC with with a cargo of say another 4 gold that when they dock that they sell that commodity to the station?

I haven't tested it, but my guess is the NPC behaviour you see around stations is more likely a representation of what's going on the background sim rather than an input to it.

well thats with open world mode, but remember others might be trading in solo mode, the server is updated when transactions take place but it would be interesting

See this is what I wasn't sure of either. So would that indicate that the only way to instantly update a Markets stock is for a player to trade with it?

Yes unequivocally Yes

There was a couple of post release issues with trading that was knackering trading that was being caused by NPC actions (running internally in systems selling all the goods as soon as they were produced etc which made supply goods become demands
