Current Assets != Credit's Spent on Ship / Outfitting?

So, this is probably silly I know, especially since I've been playing since B1.

But I never really thought about it until now.

So, why is my current assets nearly half that of what the credits I've spent on ships/outfitting?

Current assets: 74,299,448 Cr
Credits spent on ships: 121,349,282 Cr
Credits spent on outfitting: 129,301,216 Cr

Not very much I know, but I only really play for an hour or so a week if that, a combination of not much time and a desire to keep the game fresh.

Anyway I buy and sell all my ships are the Founders World, so I'm getting a discount. But shouldn't my current assets equal all of the credits I've spent on ships and modules? I've never died in the game, so never lost a ship.

Am confused :p

Yeah it looks a bit wrong with me too.

I track my assets myself (Elite spreadsheets -.-) based on ship sell value + Cash + bounty/CZ/CG vouchers.

Elite says 316mil. I say 426mil.
Thats not counting the extra I can get selling off modules before ships.

That's quite a discrepancy. You still lose 10% on ship sales, you lose money buying consumables like fuel and ammo, and you may have traded at a loss or donated money / goods for reputation via missions.

It is because it only measures the stuff you add, not the stuff you take off. So if you buy a module and then later on sell it to buy a better one, the total spent will be more than the value of the current one.

Hmmm, so they should match up more or less right?

The question is, are the credits spent on ships and outfitting cumulative? I.e. have I spent 300 million credits on ships and modules and only have 79million credits to show for it?!

Ah huh! So the chop and change of modules etc is the cause of the huge discrepancy. Cheers bud! :)

Ah right, I once swapped through every single weapon in the small/medium/large categories to see how cool they all looked. No wonder im 100mil out :p

Current assets = the value of your ship and all its modules + hard cash

152mil cash + 165mil full value of ship according to ED shipyard = 316mil

You sir take a rep, spot on.

Although I think this should be changed to price of all ships owned since technically my house is an asset even if im not in it... Ah well, its only a number :)
