Current CG Delaine slaughtert

Just wondering if the horrendous numbers of killed pirates will have a in game effect.
I mean looking at the current CG I would have thought innitially thought there would have been more of a fight but it seems Delaine does not have enough human cmdrs to contend.
As the ALD forces are progressing past tier 6 now the horrendous number of slaughtered pirates must shurely have a knock on effect in game

The CG doesn't say it will - and none of the three previous Power-vs-Power matchups have had either an in-game effect beyond the individual rewards or any visible plot effect - so it probably won't.

As a side effect of the CG taking place the system will become a Stronghold for ALD, but because of the way Powerplay works, that would have happened even if the CG was being a 6-to-1 walkover for Delaine.

In The Kings™ world, only the strong prosper- this CG is really a way to trim the useless supporters of the Kumo Council (who hate The King™s guts).

Did you understand it is a BGS war and not a powerplay one?

Players can pick up any side no matter of their own pledge, as no specific pledge is required at all. We have found even Delaine pledged players siding the Youbee faction because of the money reward (these have been of course eliminated as traitors of the Archon), we had anyway quite good fun in blowing up CMDRs in open as the CG is irrelevant from a powerplay point of view for Delaine (unless FDEV uses it for some other reason we couldn't know right now).

Given that the activity of the current CGs are based on conflict zones in space and on the ground, rather than pirate activity or RES, I don't think we have anything to fear in terms of the future supply of pirates, which are a renewable resource in any case.

It wont. Only "effect" is galnet mention.

Again, not even an dent. Each of power, have literally hundreds, if not thousands of millions, of manpower. Local skirmishes like that this CG, wont even deplete those numbers by 1%. And any losses, will be soon replenished, as human both can reproduce themselfs, or made in meat factory.... either of way, there wont be any effect in game.

When was the last time a CG had any real impact on the game storyline?
I mean that if one side wins, the game story would go that direction, and if the other side would the story would go another direction?

Or that the way a CG completes would affect what the next CG would look like?
Take the past CG "Kill the pirates, protect the miners" at Dhan. Where did this one even come from?
After its successful completion, one could have expected the next CG to be about mining in Dhan...and instead we got a mining CG in...LP 855-34 (again, where did this one come from?).

Pardon my ignorance, I was out of the game for about 8 years and returned only about 6 months ago.

Let's be honest: CG's are fun, getting almost all the player base to gather in one spot (great opportunity to wing up, PvP, meet other players, etc...), but have ZERO effect whatsoever.
PowerPlay, colonization, BGS is where players can take action to shape the bubble...I just personally wish these somehow would favor more player interaction rather than individual grind.

Well I am a spiteful man. I am impressed - just did one single high CZ on foot.

YES!

And to whoever is scared to do them in Open, please don't! If you get killed (and you will), you respawn within one minute with full ammo, full health, you don't even lose your bonds, ready for some retribution.

Sure, you may end up with only 5-8 millions per gCZ, but compared to the space CZ's, it still feels like cheating. :)

Most clearly, November 2021. There are a few more recent with very minor effects but none which obviously matter either for in-game impact or future plot direction.

CG between NMLA forces defending the captured Sacrosanct megaship to cover Theta 7's attempted transfer and escape aboard the more capable Steel Majesty, and Imperial loyalist forces attacking both ships to prevent the transfer
- if the NMLA wins, Theta 7 (and his anti-establishment organisation) escapes to be a potential recurring character
- if the Imperials win Theta 7 destroys the Sacrosanct, killing himself and everyone onboard, to avoid capture

Despite the NMLA offering a module reward and the Imperials offering nothing except the satisfaction of keeping the galaxy boring, the Imperial loyalist side wins by over a 2:1 margin.

There was also one in October 2021 where - quite similar to this current one, in fact - Hudson launched an attack to try to capture Grom. The difference is that in that one is that it was mildly hinted that he might succeed (and therefore generate some more interesting potential plot, even if Grom has to ultimately survive it somehow) if he hadn't lost the CG 5-to-1, whereas in this one it's quite clear that Delaine will be fine (and even get to keep the Mictlan) despite a similar margin the other way.
