Powerplay Current fastest way to grind merits

Yes - Back to your control system
Yes - Think so
Yes - Yes, spot their agents or what ever they are called and interdict (your Powerplay page for that system will tell you what to do)
Yes - They seem to ignore the bounty on your head!
Yes - A control system.
Thanks very much.

The best way to get to rank 5 is just undermine the nearest system possible , go back and forth from a close controlled system to any "ennemy" faction . Interdict ships from that faction, or even better get interdicted by any other faction and you get ton of merits. It's still a long grind , unsatisfying and useless but it helps to rack credits and that's all there is to see.
Seen sytem undermined at over 3000% while others were left untouched , cause its the most efficient way . No one is really trying to play powerplay , cause there's no reason to do so, even if my faction would be annihilated(highly doubtful it will ever happen) then what ? i'd just switch to another souless faction i dont feel any loyalty towards.
That's pretty sad, the gal net thing is an improvement, i like the stories , but the reality is when i tried open space , no one is even talking to each other,no cooperation, just mindless bots grinding merits, nothign really going on .

Thanks in advance guys.

Do I have to go all the way back to one of my own powers control systems, to cash in merits? - Yes.
Are unclaimed merits lost upon death, like bounties? - Yes.
Do I have to pull 'enemy target' ships out of super cruise? I have never tried this before, so can they be found elsewhere? -Yes. You will also get interdicted too by other factions patrol ships. Killing them will also give you 30 merits a ship.
When it comes to repairs etc, will I be able to dock in the same system as I am working in? Yes - but you will be wanted, so dont get scanned by the police or they will open fire. Try landing at platforms where there is no scanning.
Do I have to do this in a Control system, or can I undermine in any of Zacks systems space? - You undermine the systems your faction wants you to undermine if you are playing as a team - otherwise you can undermine control systems. Joining a well organised power like Archon will enable you to work closely with a dedicated team of people where each week a list of effective targets is shared round for the maximum good of the power and all in it. If you don't mind constant aggressive attention from other players in other powers then join Archon. If you're a wuss and play only in solo, then please join a power belonging to the Empire. :D

The issue with Aisling is, she is quite far away from the rest with her capital and currently not havign any undermining tasks afaik. We had negateive CC's the last 2 periods and now we have preparations running. So next turn we should have possibilities to undermine again.

Thats the issue, people don't have any attachements, especially with merrits running out every week as well.
Give people like 100 merrits per week for every system they did at least helped to conquer and it would reduce the weekly grind, because once you helped your faction to claim 10 systems that way you have those 1000 merrits steady income. + the money. Further you will also have interest in defending those.

E: D lack dynamic systems swapping the motivations of people around in relation to the faction situation. But when the most efficient way is still the most pointless while being a boring grind people just go for whatever is the fastest way.

Why don't I earn x as much merrits when delivering media material to system 2x as far away? That would be fair, that would make sense. because any system close will be overgrinded/supported and the others barely touched. Especially those outside a 30minute range for the there and back run.

Oh yes the merit running out doesnt help either, if only they reduced the decay the longer you stay in faction .. Its really poor design on several levels, they dont make any efforts into motivating people. System undermined over 100% ? no more merits, problem solved people will have to move. We need also serious incentives and rewards, one module only thats laughable, they arent even trying. Why not some penalties too when losing and making it a lot harder to turn coat. Nothing is fair, trading does not bring the same rewards , yet fortifying a syste mis much more usefull than merit grinding.
Its completely borken, but they work on a new game mod instead of fixing that first , they will add more level on the house even if the foundations are rotten.
