Current mining ruins game concept.

Elite must develop new ideas and add new features in Elite universe.

and there you've contradicted yourself.
you're not asking for new ideas, you're asking for what already exists in EVE, beams that extract ore direct to cargo hold/drones that mine for you are NOT NEW ideas.

always? but I don't find it boring right now, I find it relaxing and rather fun, dodging and flying around asteroids picking up chunks.

always for me then. :)

Devs forced us to do pew-pew in space,

Nah, you are never forced to pew-pew. Thrusters to max or play the interdiction mini game, you can get out of combat in 99% of cases.

But removing the mini-game of mining is one less mini-game.... and i think you can find threads around here where at some point or other people have called for each of the mini-games to be removed because someone doesn't like it. This inevitably leads to people offering that we implment full auto-pilots, auto-trading, auto- everything, and let the game play itself :D

Mining is terrible in this game. Incredibly boring and uninvolving as a whole process. It's just shoot and scoop. You spend something like 15 seconds actually mining, 2 minutes scooping. It's more of a series of short flight tests than actually mining. I don't agree with the posts asking for tractor beams or things that will just gather the ore for you, that just makes it even less involving.

I always thought that the mining process should take several minutes per asteroid and only have to scoop a couple of rocks afterwards. A single asteroid could fill a standard cobra or something. I'm not sure the exact quantities but ultimately, you should get lots of ore from a single asteroid but have to spend several minutes on that single asteroid.

You have to scan an asteroid to determine where the ore veins are, then you have to drill several holes into the asteroid in an effort to get the proper placements for the explosives to break the asteroid apart properly to maximize the amount of ore you get. This puts the vast majority of the focus on the actual mining process instead of the scooping and can take several minutes to accomplish well due to the asteroid actually moving in space, forcing players to get good at learning to fly without flight assist. This makes mining, in my opinion, a high skilled job.

Then you can get into customizing your mining gear. Mining lasers with a better range so you don't have to get as close to the asteroid, or stronger lasers to drill faster. Different types of charges that can break the asteroid apart. Then we can start talking about how to make the scooping faster.

If anyone believes that this will make mining a "mini-game" then I guess I want a mini game. But as someone that works in mining, this isn't exactly how it's done but it is quite accurate for real world mining. The exploration mining to determine where the ore is, the drilling, the blasting, the scooping, the refining all in one ship.

Maybe we need drones that fly into asteroid, drill them and back to ship. It will takes time equal to scooping ore. How about that?

Maybe just better cargo scoops upgrades that are a bit more forgiving...much wider, or somthing that sucks things up when your pretty close. I'd like some sort of more automated refinery management to be honest. Venting stuff from bins is really just annoying.

Buy a bigger refinery? I wouldn't really bother with less than 4 bins.

I have nothing against cargo scoop, let it present in game, but for big mining this is unacceptable. Let the developers answer us - mining, exploring and transporting is secondary low income level part of pew-pew gameplay, or they going to upgrade this parts for more various and interesting gameplay.

I have read posts in these forums in the past with Cmdrs who seem to have gone some way to mastering the art of mining, and have finesse d the technique of shooting their mining lasers in such a way that the ore floats out of the asteroid in a straight line, thus making the scooping process much more speedy and efficient. I also remember them saying that there is much more profit in certain metals like Palladium which earns them a whack, and some belts would likely be more lucrative than others if you know what to look for. They underlined the importance of getting high end mining equipment and making sure they have plenty of refineries etc.

Seemed like they were making quite a lot of dosh. Not saying its necessarily enough for you, but I dont think its a second class pursuit anyway. And dont forget that the Dev's have brought up that they consider the mining to be a template as it is which they have plans for developing.

But I admit Im not a hard core miner myself, its more like a day fishing on a river bank with a few cold beers kind of past time for me :)
