Current shield meta help.

Before 2.2, I remember the shield meta being stacking resistance. Now with the changes, its has switched to a combination of resistance and MJ's????
Just looking for some help/info or even link to a discussion about this. Also, how does this work with the updates to Bi-weave?

Do some more research, you seem to pritty much already know what you need to do.

I like biweave thermal Sheilds with heavy duty boosters/resistance boosters.

I would also like some informed opinions on this topic. Specifically, how much resistance should I stack before switching to heavy duty boosters.

I saw mentioned in the recent beta threads the effectiveness drops off massively after 70%, not sure if that was a change that did or didn't make into the live build

Shields are no longer the must have meta. I see hull tankers and hybrids (I use a hybrid myself) as well. In terms of resistances it soley depends on what you are aiming for. For face tanking, every bit of resistance helps if you have SCBs with you. If not, 50% should be okay and then switch to heavy duty boosters. Depending in your loadout, the shield generator type plays a critical role. For the example prismatics are super powerful on FDLs or Cutters.

It's still pretty much the same. Two resistance augmented shield boosters, rest heavy duty.
For smaller ships that can avoid ramming and PAs, thermal resistant shield generator (type of the shield depends on your ship and intentions), reinforced prismatics for big ships (to protect against PAs and ramming).

It pretty much depends of what you want to do. For PVP i'd say prismatic with reinforced and heavy duty boosters, maybe one or two resistances. For PVE i would suggest bi-weave, since they have better regen rate and you actually don't need big shield capacity vs NPCs, but it also depends on ship you are using. For resistances, 50% is soft cap i think, maybe i'm wrong, you can correct me, but i'd say stacking resists after 50% is pointless.
