Curved barriers?

Trying to build an enclosure, I've noticed something odd.

Wood Log barriers don't have a 'straight or curved' option (nor do a few other types). But, for example, Red Brick does. And I can make a curved Red Brick barrier, select the curved sections and change it to Wood Log, and I have a curved WL barrier...

Is this supposed to happen?

Yeah its really silly the way it works. Might as well just let us make them all curved. Its probably a bug they will fix eventually but I hope they don't. There are so few barrier types to begin with that it makes it hard to really blend them in to various areas. I'd hate to be further restricted.

Yeah but that wasn't really the point. We know we can change one barrier type to another, and we can use that "trick" to get curved barriers from types that don't let you curve them normally.

The question is is that a bug (because the behavior seems odd, why not just let them all be curved?) that they will eventually fix?
