Custom Angle Snap for the Advanced Move Tool

The advance move tool currently allows you to snap to 45° angles 30° angles & 15° angles.
Surely it wouldn't be too difficult to include a 10° angle... ?

Better still. Why can't we just key in the angle we want to snap to? Double click on the snap value & type in "108°". Yippee now we're making perfect pentagons!!

I'm also desperate to see the ability to move the point of rotation when in advanced move mode. I've mentioned this before, but that post didn't get much love.
It all sounds a bit nerdy, techy & easy to overlook, but I swear the serious builders would love these abilities.

Yep, 1+! [up]

From my experience in 3D art, this sounds a lot harder to implement in a game, maybe too hard, although I'd love to be wrong about that.

I really don't think so. Imagine a hot-key that, when activated, allows you to reposition the anchor point, just as you would position any other scenery piece with the advanced move tool.
Essentially you'd go into advanced move mode, hit the hot-key, the X,Y,Z handles would change colour and you'd just drag the widget around (simple).

I use Blender myself. We're not talking about snapping the anchor point to surfaces and all that jazz.

Yeah, I was thinking about Blender -- in that I usually move the 3D cursor where I want it, then snap the origin point to that. So my first reaction is they'd have to implement a 3D cursor! [redface]

[up] all for it.

i guess custom angle steps are requested since first days. imho a total must have, gives a builder far more control and saves lots of adjustment time.

same with this:

at least option to select to rotate around center, left or right corner (while keep previous snapping position) - especially if you have selected multiple objects from a building. actually it's pretty random how the rotation flows if you select more than 2 different objects. makes building harder than necessary.
