Custom Coasters?

Hey, new user, just wondering if I can get some help designing a custom coaster, this game is ing me off. Any time I add one of the special pieces (the far right tab, spiral tracks), no matter how I place it, no matter how gently the coaster goes into it, as soon as it reaches it, the "nausea" levels immediately max out. Why? It seems like really bad game design, to put pieces like this in it, and make them damn near impossible to actually use. Is there a way to place these pieces and not have that happen? Did the devs grasp the concept of this being a game, that we're not actually designing a roller coaster for real people to ride, and that maybe having the features be so difficult to implement might negatively impact the game's enjoyability?

Not sure what is going on, but I have never had any issues building coasters, and believe me I suck at making them. But recently have gotten the EFN ratings all in the green, and that is using the special pieces.

But kind of not fair to take shots at Frontier for something that might be wrong on your end, and no matter what nothing could take away any enjoyment from Planet Coaster. To me, it's almost a perfect game.

Good luck though.

I appreciate the response, but no, I don't feel bad for criticizing them at all. What I said here was a fraction of the frustration I'm experiencing, with this game. Maybe it's the version of the game I have (I'm playing it on PS5), but something is definitely wrong, and it's ridiculous. I think a game like this should be at least a little bit straightforward and intuitive, and this has been anything but. I shouldn't have to spend hours trying to figure out how to have a simple coaster feature not invalidate some imaginary standard and prevent it from working as a ride. And finally, after abandoning any hint of creativity, and seeing if I could just make a complete coaster at all, I built an incredibly tame one with a bunch of gentle ups and downs, and when testing was completed, I got a notice that "your coaster exceeds g force limits". I checked the heat map and testing data, and the most severe examples were 3 points where the vertical g force momentarily rose above 3. And they don't tell you what those limits are, no. Just that you exceeded them. That's really helpful.

If it turns out I'm doing something wrong, I'll gladly come back and apologize, but it doesn't seem likely.

I play on console also. Both Xbox and PS5. Have you tried out the tutorials? There is one dedicated to teaching you how to build coasters. Hope you figure it out and then be able to enjoy Planet Coaster.

Thanks again, I'll browse around and see what I can find, but I do think they f*cked (I noticed after posting that the message automatically deleted my profanity) up the PS5 version. I had another interesting experience, just a few hours ago. I selected the game, and there was a notice that there's a "new activity" available: Complete the tutorial. Which I've already done. And where it normally says "Play Game", there was "Start Activity" (Play Game was beside it). So I selected that, and entered the tutorial that, as I said, I've already completed. It brought me into the tutorial park, and there was nothing new to do, and it said "story...ended, or completed, something like that" the gist was that it's done. I selected an object, just for the hell of it. Then I tried to deselect it with the back (circle) button, and nothing happened. The object was still selected. I kept pushing the back button, and nothing happened. I pressed the start button, and returned to the title screen, and here I found that the game was simply not responding to the back button, at all. It just stopped working. It still works just fine outside the game, so it's not an issue with the console or the controller, it's specific to the game. So I think my game now has a "start activity" button that's never going to go away, and will also randomly stop the back button from functioning, or maybe that was just a problem with the activity that I'm trying to get the game to recognize I've already completed. Maybe I'm just having really bad luck, somehow, but it seems like every time I play I find a new way the game is broken.

Depends on the coaster. Is it 30m tall or 70m? Then are you going through those rolls at a speed which looks good but is totally ridiculous? You can make a 40mph coaster with 7.5 excitment without much effort.
