General / Off-Topic Custom creation collab

I am not good with blender or 3DSMax (actually can't afford this one), but I am pretty good with Sketchup. My question is this; if I make something in sketchup would someone that is good with either blender or 3DSMax be willing to import it and polish it as a joint creation for custom creations?

I have several ideas such as an arch bridge, etc.

I'm happy to help with blender, if it is for Planet Coaster however I would wait a bit until we get some sort of confirmation that UGC is a go

Once we are on Steam, we will have access to the workshop, so that is what I was thinking. If I understand it right, blender can import .dae files and I can export as .dae

This seems like a plan. I would be happy to add to the Sketchup detailing.

We can create a template file first so that all models in Sketchup use the same layer system as this will help when converting to to Blender. Also we need to work through on how to sensibly split the model if needed to bring each element into Blender separately so that they can be processed accordingly.

.dae is indeed the format needed which all new versions of Sketchup can export with.

We also need to make sure all the additional save options are the same. For instance exporting without tessellation will likely work better for Blender to then make editable meshes then.

This link goes into more detail and explains the above better.
